The media could not be loaded. Why did you pick this product vs others?: Very good price. Arrived in 1 week. Well packaged (look inside the larger corner posts for some of the smaller ones). Arrived in perfect condition, with everything wrapped in plastic. This is a quality pergola. During assembly, you can really tighten down the bolts, except when fastening the five crossbars (F1 & F2 pieces) to the top frame; for this do not over-tighten, as that will cause the metal to bend in. Otherwise, very sturdy construction. I assembled it myself mostly; I needed someone to hold one of the posts during the initial set-up.

More than I expected at this price. Took me 6 hours to assemble alone. Lots of pieces, but not overwhelming. Would have liked a bar in place to hang a curtain, but I'll come up with something.

You get what you pay for, but $300 still isnt cheap. The first two things it boast about is the arched roofing that doesn't allow water pooling and the second thing was its metal durability. Ive had it for only a month and a half, I have to empty all the rain water off of it constantly as water pools significantly and after even a light rain, with in a week the rain water issue caused the poles in the ends of retractable canvas to bend and it tore the stitching off of the velcro. Last night's storm had so much rain pool that it has completely collapsed all of the roof supports, metal bent everywhere. I give only a second star because it went up fairly easy and looked nice while up. Wish I could have used it for more than a month and a half.

I wanted a canopy that would block the setting sun from cooking me on my patio. I love that you can pull the shade cloth down to block it. I’m taking away one star because the canopy can be a pain to pay attention to weather so it is off more than with it on. I don’t have it secured to the concrete yet, need to buy a bit, and without the canvas on it withstood 60 mph storm with no damage. I did put my heavy patio furniture against the legs, one leg i put a cinder block on it since that’s what I had handy, and it’s been through several storms without moving. The canvas has been on in light rains and water pools in it that needs dumped out which splashes but stays dry under it. I weave the canvas through the bars which helps with winds. I go over the first two bars, then under one, then over the middle, under one and over the last two again. The ends that velcro to hold in place will slide up some on 15-20 mph winds but parachute all the way up without weaving the canvas. I took two cords from my tent and put it through the velcro loop and stake them to the ground on the two legs by the yard, which has tripped me twice. Less than an hour to put together with two people and a cordless drill. I’m hopeful it will last 3 years. I would buy it again if it stands the test of time, for what I need. If my situation was different, because it’s high maintenance and I’m short, I wouldn’t even consider it. Don’t forget you have to have a place to store the canvas when it’s off.

Last time I checked , a magnet doesn't stick to aluminum. Still in the assembly process. Be prepared to install several screws. Will update review when installation is complete. Not happy about it not being aluminum as advertised.
