It's a present for an 8 year old. I think it will be good for him. It has a combination lock to open it and the combination is easy to change. Dollar bills can be easily fed into the currency slot and there is a separate slot for coins.

The interactive feature is great, however, since the door opens from the front, you would need to lay it on its back before opening, if it had very many coins in it.

The media could not be loaded. My daughter loves her new birthday gift. She happy now that can save her extra change and not just the her money on table. It takes cash and coins as well as you can create your own passcode. It got for a great price and it’s not that assembling besides putting batteries in. It very functional and durable. This vault is a fun and easy way to teach you children how to save. I will be purchasing my children each on just like for their next birthday. So yes if want teach your children about banking savings and the value of saving extra cash for their whatever their future desires. Then purchase vault and help the save in this economy.
