I wanted a hands-free experience for locking/unlocking my front door, especially when leaving my home. My hands are usually full, or I’m just on the go, so I want the door to lock on its own. However: * The lock only works less than half of the time. * I constantly have to recalibrate the lock, and it still fails. * I’ve only had the lock for 3 months and the special battery is already dying. * The door sensor often doesn’t sense that the door is closed unless I repeatedly open and close the door. But then that eliminates the hands-free experience and defeats the whole purpose of my reasoning for purchasing the lock in the first place. Also, by then, I could just manually lock the door myself; again, defeating the purpose of why I bought the lock. * Certainly not worth the $120. ETA: After the original review, the business reached out and offered a full refund, when I responded that I want the refund, they instead responded with troubleshooting instructions. I’ve done all the troubleshooting possible. The product is just poor quality. Why even offer? Minus another star for jerking me around.

Maybe it should be five-star? I only discounted for the locking/unlocking app being too many clicks away. Mechanically it seems sound, and works well. Installation was a breeze. This Philips Retrofit lock is cool because it can still be opened with a key if something fails. I do have an issue with just how to mount the door sensors on my molding. They are magnetic and must be on the same plane when my door and adjacent molding are not! I will ask the Philips tech dept about that soon. It works fine without those sensors IMHO.

I got the Wi-Fi Keyless Entry Door Lock for my front door a few weeks ago, and honestly? I didn’t think I’d be this impressed by a deadbolt 😅. I just wanted something that worked with Alexa and didn’t need a hub, but this thing turned out to be way more useful than I expected. First off, the installation was super easy. I’m not exactly a DIY expert, but I managed to get it installed with just a screwdriver and the instructions in the box. Took me maybe 20–25 minutes tops. The app walks you through the setup step-by-step, and it’s pretty foolproof. No drilling or complicated wiring, which was a relief. The built-in WiFi is a total gamechanger. I can lock and unlock the door from my phone, even when I’m not home. I’ve let in my dog walker, a delivery guy, and even my neighbor when I forgot to leave the spare key. It’s just so convenient. No need for a separate bridge or hub, which is awesome. Now let’s talk about the unlocking options—this thing gives you choices: Fingerprint sensor that’s super fast and accurate (like under 0.3 seconds fast) Passcode keypad with anti-peep protection Physical key backup just in case Voice control via Alexa or Google Assistant And of course, remote unlock through the app I’ve set up fingerprints for my whole family, and it works flawlessly. No fumbling for keys or remembering codes. You can also create up to 100 custom passcodes, which is great for guests or cleaners. I’ve used the one-time PIN feature a few times and it’s super handy—especially when you don’t want someone to have permanent access.
