Pretty easy to install but I did have a previous deadbolt and door handle so all holes were drilled. Everything lined up perfectly. Written instructions were good, I could follow them easily. Setting up app on my iphone was also easy. Once connected it also worked perfectly. I also like that it works with Alexa and while that took a little more to figured out because the instructions basically said set up in Alexa but Alexa said set it up in the app. There wasn’t any instructions on exactly how to do that part.

Fabulous product super easy to install as a first-time. Homeowner with absolutely no experience with installing anything, and just learned the difference between a flathead and a Phillips head screwdriver. Good: Easy to install. Very good functionality. Easy to use app and easy to connect to WIFI. Deadbolt provides comparable security as previously installed deadbolt. Bad: Deadbolt strike plate way too long compared to previous deadbolt strike plate. I had to use the existing strike plate. It would be nice to allow the app to automatically lock the deadbolt at specified time (i.e. 11:00 PM daily).

I had a rough start with the Philips Wi-Fi Smart Door Lock with Handle, but the ending completely changed my opinion. My first unit would not connect to the app—no matter what I tried. Resetting, troubleshooting Wi-Fi, reinstalling… nothing worked. It functioned as a basic lock, but the smart features were essentially unusable. After about a week, it was clear the unit itself was the problem. I exchanged it for a replacement, and the difference was night and day. The new lock connected in under 30 seconds and has worked flawlessly since. Setup was quick, the app responded immediately, and all the remote features performed exactly as expected. Installation seemed straightforward and didn’t take long. Final take: If you get a good unit, this is an excellent smart lock—reliable, fast, and easy to use. But if you have connection issues out of the box, don’t waste time troubleshooting endlessly. Exchange it.
