I got this product "ONLY" because I tried so many other smart locks, that just didn't work for me. I mean I tried the expensive one, the cheap one, the small ones, big ones many. So, I said I will try Philips. I honestly thought it would be a waste of time. BUT! this little lock is TRULY the BEST of all the smart locks I tried. First it was inexpensive, it's compacted and small, very easy, fast and simple to install, it reacts quick and it's not my internet that's doing it. The box it comes in is Oh so small, you would say, "That's It?". What I really like about it. IT REALLY WORKS WITH YOUR EXSISTING REGULAR DOOR DEADBOLT LOCK! It REALLY makes it a smart lock. It DO NOT need the Wi-Fi gateway that you have to buy separately with most smart locks. I did notice the price-hike after I got my lock. There were only 5 locks left when I got mine and this little lock sell very FAST! I got the keypad with finger touch, too. It is working perfectly for me. If I saw this smart lock first before the others, all my doors would have nothing but Philips Smart Locks. They just came out with about "3 OTHER" Philips smart locks. I think they are the same locks, but with a higher price. It still not a bad $170 with a touch keypad. Yes, I will get 2 or 3 more. (If they do the just the lock). It's A Very Good Non-Expensive Smart Lock. I am adding pictures maybe a video, I am not sure. The pictures are of my front door, and it has 3 different brand name smart locks on it (Which I honestly didn't want to do.) Listed from top to bottom is the pictures; 01. SWITCHBOT, 02. CATCHFACE & 03. PHILIPS. of these three locks, Philips is the one I would place on my doors. The others are really nice, BUT I LOVE EVERYTHING about Philips design, look, convenience of using it, the different options the app gives you to use, and the cost is pretty good. (I hope they do not raise the price?) I wanted a clean, smooth and slim look, for my doors, which I truly miss out on. This door locks costed me round $390. I think if I went $500 on the locks for my front door it would be looking really good. What I have now, do not look good to me BUT it's dose exactly what I need, my wife can enter the house quick, easy and safely at ANYTIME of the day, even if both her hands are full. Then the entire door secure itself seconds after she enters the house. I truly cannot ask for more. (I will be writing a review on each of the smart locks in my pictures: 01. SWITCHBOT, 02. CATCHFACE & 03. PHILIPS. Truly think they all are very nice products. [My Opinion]) P,S. I still just might change all to 1 BRAND name and sell the ones I do not need. This is great for an apartment complex that won't let you change to a combination deadbolt. This is a great work around. It is super easy to install and doesn't change anything on the outside of the door. The app works really well for notifications of opening and closing, and even if it's manually locked instead of auto locked. The auto lock feature is excellent. Just make sure you have a key on you in case the battery dies. It hasn't happened yet, but I imagine it eventually will.

I'm not one to write a lot of bad reviews. I only do it when it is extremely well deserved, so I thought I would share with everyone my experience. I bought 2 of these. One used, but the batteries were missing so I returned it. The second one, my wife bought new while I waited for my refund. I was able to hook up the new one relatively painlessly. The pain didn't come until later, when we actually tried to use the device. To use it, you download the Philips Home app and set it all up, which went well. Here's where things went bad. I bought this to Integrate with Google Home. Following the instructions, Google Home would not find this device. I tried multiple ways going through the Philips Home app to link the account. Linking from Google Home, adding and removing it. All kinds of stuff I shouldn't have to do. After a while, I decided that it just wasn't going to work with Google Home. So, I just was going to use it stand alone connected to the wifi and utilize the app to lock/unlock it. Ha. Yeah no... When you lock or unlock from the app, at least 50% of the time it wouldn't register. When it did register, the app wouldn't update so it would still say "Locked" after a successful unlock. We used it for a week hoping that there would be some kind of update to the app. I left a review of all of these issues there hoping the developer would update the app. Wishful thinking. Looking through the app reviews there are a TON of 1 star reviews on Google Play. We returned the second one and got something different. This was quite the disappointment. Hopefully, if you bought this and use Android/Google Home, you kept the box.

Installation is VERY easy, the installation instructions are very well written. The app needs some work. If you don't allow notifications on your phone from the app, it will pop up a dialog box every time you launch the app to tell you that you need to enable notifications on your phone. It is Relentless about this. One of the problems with the app is with the sharing feature. You can share the lock with any number of people, but only in two modes: family mode and guest mode. Family mode is basically full administrative access to the lock and everyone with family mode access will see, and get notifications, whenever the device locks or unlocks the door. It will tell them who unlocked or unlocked the door if it was done with the app or it will say it was locked or unlocked manually. The other mode is guest mode and it only allows lock and unlock. There doesn't seem to be any day, date, or time controls on either type of user. This device replaces the knob on the inside of your deadbolt, so your key will still work from the outside should you need to unlock the door manually. This version doesn't come with a fingerprint reader... I don't know why they are asking me to rate the fingerprint reader. Update: I learned recently that if your home internet is offline, the lock will communicate directly with your phone for lock and unlock, you just need to be close to the lock. This was a happy surprise! The company seems somewhat responsive to reviews, though I'm not sure any of the app issues have been addressed since I purchased this lock and left the above review 4 months ago. They did refund my entire purchase price, though, so I'll give credit where credit is due.

Works well. Door compatibility is great. My biggest complaint is the app requires frequent logins. The Apple link does not work, have to enter logon info. The frequency is about monthly. I have to keep my key with me because it is too worrisome if it starts acting up.

The Phillips dead bolt is an excellent choice to add some automation and smart -ness to an existing door lock. The appearance of the door and hard ware is not changed at all. The new device simple replaces the interior knob that engaged the dead bolt. I can lock manually or I can use the app on my phone. Or I can say “ Alexa, please lock the front door”. Or, I can have it lock and unlock on a schedule. Or, I can have it unlock when it senses my proximity and I knock three times. Or, I can lock/ unlock it remotely using the app. I can even check on my phone to see if the door is open/closed/locked/unlocked. It is very easy to install with only a Phillips screwdriver and a measuring tape. Instructions are very well written. Be sure to save the old knob, so you can put it back on when you move. Only thing I haven’t experienced is a low battery , but it will be easy to change the batteries. Two in the lock and one in the door position sensor. Excellent value for the money, compare to replacing the entire lock with a new digital lock and having to hire a locksmith, I saved $100’s of dollars.

I bought this as a replacement for a different type of lock same style but now this new brand. Unfortunately most of the features were unable to work. It required extra pieces to auto lock or auto unlock which never connected no matter what I tried. They remained unusable. This also uses strange size batteries instead of standard size. Does it work as a door lock? Yes.. Can you remotely lock/unlock with a touch of a button? Yes.. That's also glitchy as it suggests it is locked when unlocked or vice-versa.. That's just a minor inconvenience.. If you can get those extra pieces to work for auto lock/unlock then you might like this.. I'm going back to my old version now that it's back available again.. This lock had potential.. It's honestly not bad.. Just not for me :(

I had to return it because I'm renting and really couldn't cut the door frame to make it fit. It's a shame too it was perfect but I was able to return it and had to go with another product.
