  • Excellent lock set. incredibly extensive features. Fingerprint, numeric keypad, standard key
I ordered the PHILIPS Store Philips Wi-Fi Smart Door Lock Front Door Lock Set, Fingerprint Door Lock Front Door Handle, Keypad Door Lock with Handle, Deadbolt Lock with App Control, Auto Lock, Keyless Entry Door Lock with Alexa. I've been wanting to get a smart lock for my entrance door ever since I moved into this house and have done a fair amount of research ahead of ordering this Philips Wi-Fi smart door lock set. I had hoped to get a set from Kwikset because they have such a simple method for Reiki in the lock but they're Smart Lock does not quite compete with the functions and features of this Philips Smart Lock. I really like the quality of this set, especially the easy connection to Wi-Fi and the app as well as the fingerprint reader which was a mandatory requirement for me. First, the negative and it's a very minor nit but still a negative to me. When the lights are out in my entry foyer I cannot see the lever to see if it's in the locked or unlocked position. So, I either have to turn the lights on or walk up very close to the lock to make sure it is locked. Of course, you could say that I could just look at my app and determine that it's locked but I'm not always carrying my phone around in the evening and I'm still in the habit of checking my doors. I'll remedy this by putting a reflector tape on the end that points towards the frame when it's locked or I may just put the reflective tape along the entire bar and if it's pointing vertically then it's unlocked and if it's pointing horizontally then it's locked. Then, I'll be able to see it from a distance and no whether it's locked or unlocked. Again, this is a very small nit and it's probably only an issue if you got the black smart door lock set since I think a metallic look one will not disappear into the darkness when the lights are out. I did not deduct any stars for this one negative feature because it's probably not an issue if you get a metallic colored lock set instead of a black lock set and for many people they probably wouldn't care about this knit anyway. Installation was extremely easy. I did have to adjust the position of the strike plate so that there was no friction on the latch as it entered the door frame but that had nothing to do with this lock set as the home builder left my strike plate was a little off alignment for the original door lock set. Once I did the adjustment the latch goes in perfectly smoothly with no resistance on the electronic lock as occurred before I made the adjustment. The app was easy to install on my Android Samsung smartphone and to connect to my guest Wi-Fi, which I connect all internet of things too rather than to my main Wi-Fi. So far, I've only installed the Smart Lock portion of the set in my entryway door because that was the most important aspect of this to me and the the rest of the set has a slightly narrower dimension than my existing handle and I'm probably going to have to touch up the door paint when I take out the old handle and put this new handle on. I expect to do that this weekend even though I've been using the Smart Lock portion of the set for a couple of weeks now. The three things that I like most about this lock set are the fingerprint reader, the notification that you receive via the app on your smartphone every time the door is locked or unlocked, and the auto locking feature which you can set to either never auto lock or to auto lock after certain time intervals. I have mine set for 30 seconds auto lock since it's so easy to get back in using a fingerprint. In addition to my three favorite things about this lock set, I like the keypad technique. You can have as few as four characters in your PIN code or you can do many more characters in your PIN code. But, even better than that, so that you can hide the smudges that will end up being left on your PIN code keys, you can press any number of buttons ahead of putting in your PIN code or after putting in your PIN code as long as you put your PIN code in in the right order somewhere in the middle of all those button pushes. I love this function. You see, if you only have a four digit PIN code and you only press those four buttons eventually those four buttons will stand out as they get dirty. It won't be too difficult for someone to figure out the order of those four buttons in order to unlock your front door. Well you're certainly going to clean off your buttons from time to time, as long as you randomly press some other buttons ahead of your PIN code or after your PIN code you won't need to worry about cleaning off the buttons as frequently. I took a lot of pictures of the installation process and of the components of the kit but there's a limit to how many of the photos I can post so I'm posting what I think are the more important photos. As you'll see in at least one of my photos I used to level to make sure the lock set was installed aesthetically level. I recommend that you do this as well. I use the level both on the mounting plate and on the lockset cover in both the vertical and the horizontal positions. Notably, this lock set also comes with a physical key that you can insert in the lock opening hidden behind the fingerprint pad. This uses eight batteries while many smart locks used for but I did a little research into this and it should last roughly twice as long as those smart locks that only use four batteries. The number of batteries may make it look a little bulkier than the other models you get the convenience of not having to change the batteries as often. Overall, five stars for me for its extensive set of features and easy installation. ... show more

  • Never living without one of these again!
For years, we’ve used a regular door lock on our front door (like about everyone else), but I’d been wanting to upgrade. So when I saw this Philips Wi-Fi Smartlock, I had to try it. Our door already had a handle and lock like this on it (though not smart), and thankfully the dimensions were IDENTICAL to this one, so I’m guessing that’s pretty standard. The job started by removing the old handle and deadbolt, which was easy enough with a screwdriver. The new handle went on just like the old, again, easy enough. The keypad smartlock is where I anticipated the most challenge. I was wrong. It’s basically just a deadbolt with an electronic box on the back. Affixing it took about 10 minutes and I was up and running. Before use, you have to download an app so I grabbed one for my iPhone. With 8 AA batteries in the smartlock, it turned on, and the app almost instantly connected to it without issue. (I did have to create a new account—the most time-consuming part of the process.) I’ve installed several smart devices in my home and this was hands-down the easiest. It just worked immediately. Next came the fun part. Each family member put their thumb on the lock and registered their print to the app. We also set a universal password for the keypad. And...that was it. It’s so cool how when someone comes in or out, I get an alert on my phone indicating who it is and the time. I also set it to auto-lock after 60 seconds, solving an issue in our house of people forgetting to lock the front door. It’s a very solid piece, though I’m curious how well it’ll last with the sunlight beating on it all day, every day. Then again, it feels very, very solid. All in all, this is a no-brainer. If we ever move, I’ll get a new one for the next house. Never living without one of these again! ... show more

  • Sturdy set - easy to install and use. Looks great!
The Philips Wi-Fi Smart Door Lock Set combines several modern access options into one system, making it a convenient upgrade for households looking to move beyond traditional keys. The lock integrates fingerprint recognition, keypad entry, app control, and keyless access while also maintaining the security and functionality expected from a front door lock. One of the biggest advantages is the variety of unlocking methods available. Fingerprint access is quick and convenient for daily use, while the keypad provides an easy option for family members, guests, or service providers. The companion app adds another layer of flexibility by allowing lock management and status monitoring from a smartphone. Having multiple access methods helps ensure there is always a convenient way to enter the home. The installation process was straightforward for anyone familiar with replacing a standard residential lockset. The handle and deadbolt coordinate well visually, creating a clean and modern appearance on the door. The fingerprint reader responded quickly during testing, and the keypad was easy to use even in low-light conditions. I also appreciate features such as auto-lock functionality and remote management through the app. Auto-lock provides added peace of mind by helping ensure the door is secured after entry or exit, while app-based controls make it easier to manage access without physically being at home. Alexa compatibility is another welcome feature for users who already have a smart home ecosystem. The overall construction feels solid and appropriate for a primary entry door. The lock provides a good balance between convenience, security, and smart-home functionality without being overly complicated to operate. Overall, this Philips smart lock is a feature-rich solution for homeowners seeking keyless entry, fingerprint access, remote control capabilities, and smart-home integration. The combination of multiple unlocking options, app management, auto-lock features, and modern styling makes it a practical upgrade for enhancing both convenience and everyday security. ... show more

  • Great brand name smart lock
This review is for "Philips Wi-Fi Smart Lock for Front Door, Keypad Door Lock with Handle, Built-in WiFi App Remote Control, Keypad Deadbolt Auto Lock for Front Door, Supports Alexa & Google, Matte Black". This smart lock is elegant and well made. It does not look or feel cheap and is very solid and sturdy. It provides good security and several ways of managing the locking, unlocking and lock status. It stands out by supporting Alexa and Google, which some other, cheaper brands do not. The deadbolt keypad lock can be installed separately from the handle. Overall it is a great value for the money. ... show more

  • PHILLIPS HAS MADE A SMART LOCK THAT WILL PLEASE THE MOST TECH SAVVY PERSON IN THE FAMILY
The Phillips smart lock with WI-FI connectivity is one of the most advanced locks I have ever used. Very good quality case, dead bolt, and handle this set should give many years of service and peace of mind. Self-locking you will never have to think or worry if you have locked the door and have to drive back home to lock. With WI-FI connectivity you can open and lock the door from anywhere in the world that has internet connectivity. In addition to the WIFI connectivity you may also use your fingerprint or if feeling old school use the key. Like I mentioned before the lockset is very robust and will last many years of use. The deadbolt is very well made and will hold up in all but the most extreme of circumstances. Overall, a very highly well-made lockset with a great finish. A premium set with all the bells and whistles. ... show more

  • Love it once we got past the installation/setup frustration -- tons of great features
Initially, I have to admit that I did not like this lock – it was a pain to set up and get connected thanks to several battery, wire disconnects and Wi-Fi issues. Once installed, however, and after using it for a few days, it is really nice and it adds some great features to our back (garage to house) door. (Please forgive the garage side dirt on the door in photos). I definitely like its look with a dark, brushed metal appearance that is very upscale, modern and clean looking (which is somewhat lost on our older garage door). • Installation: It was such a hassle installing the keypad and getting the app set up, that we opted to not even bother trying to install the handle (as those instructions make it look like that part is a major operation) on the same day. The keypad alone took us almost 2 hours to get it installed and connected. However, after some rest and recovery, my husband tackled the door handle part and said it was actually very easy and wasn’t complicated at all (but it did require him to drill into the door). Install of keypad was easy physically, but getting the app to connect to the keypad to actually work was a problem see below) and then the internal wire connections kept coming loose as we screwed it into the door. But once those issues were addressed (and after a little frustration), it works like a charm. • Wi-Fi Issue: This only works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (at least for set up). This is a big problem if your phone or home Wi-Fi is 5.0 because it means you must change networks to work on it. So, we set up a whole new home Wi-Fi network on 2.4 GHz just so we could just connect the lock to the app on our cell phones, set the codes for the keypad and set the fingerprints. After we set it up, we reconnected our phones to the regular home Wi-Fi and we do still seem to have access to the lock (even though the lock shows on the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network). But it required both the phone and the lock on the same one initially to set everything up. We haven’t had to switch our phones back to the 2.4 since and we can see the lock status, get notifications, add fingerprints, etc. • Another important item to note is that when my husband added the lock to his app (using the QR code on the lock itself as instructed after I had already put it on my phone), it took the lock off my app. Instead, if you want more than one person to have access to the lock via the app, you have to set up one main person on the lock and then generate and use an invite code on your app to let person add the lock to their app – you can’t both install the lock independently using the QR code on the lock itself. • Once we got it connected, it works great with codes, fingerprints for multiple people, and Wi-Fi. These are easy to add for each family member. It is convenient and my husband loves the notification alerts when someone comes and goes from the back door and the ability to ensure the door is locked after the last kiddo is home for the night without having to get out of bed and go downstairs to double check (we can see the status of the lock and actually trigger it to lock from our bedroom). Every time the door is unlocked (or locked) via code or fingerprint, we receive a notification on our phones saying who did what (locked/unlocked). If it was locked or unlocked manually, we also receive a notification letting us know it was manually opened/closed. This is especially nice if you have teens that come and go so you have a record – or if you are monitoring who is accessing the house if you have special codes for particular companies (cleaning crews) or such that access the home/office door. • Extra Security Features my Computer Savvy Kiddo pointed out: It does come with master keys (a point my kiddo pointed out as important since it uses 8 AA batteries and it would be inconvenient for one to go bad and you can’t access the house at all). The keyhole is hidden under the fingerprint piece (you just rotate that up out of the way). He also approved of the fact that the only accessible screws for the keypad are on the INSIDE of the door – not on the public facing outside (so you can’t just bypass the lock by unscrewing it and removing it from the outside. Overall, once we got through the installation and set-up frustration, I find that I really like the lock. I like how it looks, the convenience and the notifications. I am actually considering getting a second one for the front door as well, now that we know what we are doing. ... show more

  • Perfect front door lock set that looks great
This Philips WiFi smart door lock has been a solid upgrade for our front door. The build feels sturdy and well-made, and it offers multiple unlocking options including a fingerprint reader, keypad entry, and a physical key for backup. Having those choices makes it very convenient for different situations, especially when family members come and go at different times. The phone app control works smoothly and makes it easy to check the lock status or manage access remotely. It also supports Alexa integration, though I personally chose not to enable those features for added security and to avoid any risk with voice-triggered commands. One minor drawback is that the auto-lock function isn’t always consistent, so it can be a bit hit or miss depending on how the door is closed. Overall, it’s a reliable and convenient smart lock that adds both security and ease of use to the home. As this is a door lock set, allt he pieces work well together and looks great, compared to having purchased just the dead bolt which turns out doesn't go well aesthetically with the door handle. ... show more

The Philips Wi-Fi Smart Door Lock Front Door Lock Set is a quality built, durable lock set and door handle. The product arrived packaged very well and scratch free. The finish is good quality and even throughout the whole product. No spots lighter or streaks in the color. Install does take a little bit of time but in the end it goes together well. I found the fingerprint part to be a little touchy but everything else works great! You need to make sure you have good, consistent Wi-Fi also! I'd recommend this to friends looking for something similar. I feel the price is fair for what you get and how it operates. ... show more
