Great kit works well, cuts hair great and operates great with newer style charger. I recommend minimal water exposure to washing the motor unit. I wash the hair out and then dry it when needed but my older model got water in it and used to turn on by itself till it dried. So I recommend washing and drying when cleaning or wet and storing it outside the shower in a dry area. The charge on this lasts a long time and cuts alot of hair without quitting after a charge. It's a great size, feels great when trimming hair, is a great price and super easy to use. This is my second one and the only maintainence on these is servicing them with a small bit of dialeteic dialectric grease between the blades. You have to wash the hair and the blades are sensitive to dirt or sand so clean hair before using them is important. The small blade is for trimming and the big blade is for full head hair. It also needs grease occasionally between the blade center of the plastic that operates between the motor peg. The trimmer lasts a long time and is one of the best ones I have ever had. I prefer this over the corded ones. Norelco is always on top of compatibility, affordability and good products. I used to buy a trimmer with changeable blades. This one doesn't go dull fast and it will last a long time if your cutting clean washed hair. ... show more

I bought this last summer to replace my old trimmer that quit working. And I hace very pleased with this one it holds a charge for more than one or two uses. I haved used it to tream my own hair as it has the pre angled head guids for the left andright side of yaur head. As someone who gets analysis paralysis, it's difficult for me to decide sometimes when I feel I'm making a decent investment, and parting with my hard earned dollars. I was looking for something that could do everything I needed and them some, without robbing the bank, and here I am writing the review. Pros: Value - it's under $100, has 21 pieces, and fits comfortably in a nice, but hard shell case. Battery - lasts up to 6 hours which is great because I don't want it plug it in every time after I trim. Not to mention as batteries age, they lose capacity to hold a charge. So if something can only last 45 minutes now, imagine in a few years when it's a race to beat the clock while trimming. Quality - stainless steel body, comfortable to hold. Norelco (Philips) is a brand name and has been around for a long time, and they wouldn't be if they produced crappy products. This thing is built to last. Allegedly, it's maintenance free, but I still clean it as I go to prolong it's life. Cons: Charger - the proprietary cable is crazy nowadays. With everything switching to USB-C, just join us in the 21st century. Also there is a cable but no power brick, aka the thing the plugs into the wall outlet, and it will need to be a USB A compatible to charge this trimmer. The Manual - it's as large as classroom map on the wall. It's a little over kill. Storage - while I applaud the use of the rugged case and not a pouch, the plastic guards are just tossed in a mesh pouch in the case, makes finding the specific one you're looking for a pain sometimes, although the guards are marked and easy to read. I'm really just nit picking at this point. Travel lock - didn't see that it had one so will be interesting to see how it does traveling. The case should prevent accidental engaging but anythings possible I suppose. No Stand - at almost $100 you'd think they could add a stand for it to sit. It does stand on its own and looks sturdy but if I'm shelling out $100, I would like to have it displayed nicely on my bathroom counter in all it's glory. Final thoughts: If you want options, a quality build, something you don't have to worry about charging frequently or storing it safely, and not breaking the bank, then this is for you. If you don't care about a trimmer, or it doesn't matter much then I wouldn't spend $100 on it. As for me, I wanted to put my money into something I'll have for the next decade at least, and it looks like I made a smart investment. ... show more

    • One hit and lots of misses
I'm had this thing for about 5 months now and I'm still on the fence about it. As far as beard/body trimmers go, I've only been using them for about 5 years. Ive had two before this, both Braun. The first one I had was really good. It was one of the lower end ones so after about 18 months the battery was dead. I kept using it, keeping it pulled in between uses, but I was getting tired of that. I decided to buy one of the high end ones with the better batteries, but those clippers were total garbage. They didn't cut anywhere near as good as my first Braun. It drove me crazy so finally, I bought this thing. It definitely doesn't work anywhere near as well for grooming my stubble. That guard with the dial (shortest options) is HOT GARBAGE!!! It snags, its wobbles, it doesn't cut, having to go over an area multiple times before it can get everything. The longer beard guards all seen a bit loose. I haven't used them, so I cant say for sure. But yeah that dial guard is worthless! For body and hair, it seems to work really well. Ive only tried it once so far, but it works so well that I'm considering cutting my hair (on my head) with it. The problem with this is, the guards don't have any numbers on them so you cant tell what length it will cut to. WHY???? Whats the secret? What are you hiding from us, Norelco????? The numbers on the site make zero sense and aren't complete. I cant find the manual to see if there is reference to them. Why does it have to be this difficult?! All in all. I say this purchase was a bust. Thankfully I only paid half what they are asking for this thing right now. If I were you, I wouldn't waste your time with any of these groomers. Trying to research these things are impossible. Seems that the male groomer industry is all a scam. All these popular youtubers are shills and full of crap! Just go Au Naturel like them filthy french do! (j/k) Just don't waste you money on this thing just because of that stupid little dial! ... show more
