As an Apple user, I wanted great over the ear headphones with noise cancellation, but there was Absolutely No Way I was going to drop the fat stacks on the Apple ones. I started looking around and considering my options, originally deciding on some SRhythm off-brand ones here on Amazon. When I came back with the money to buy, the SRhythms were sold out so it was back to browsing. At this point, I decided it would be a better idea to go with a trusted brand that didn’t have the possibility of disappearing from Amazon within the next few years. The ideal headphone, for me, was the Sony XM5s - after reading reviews it sounded absolutely godly. But it also costs godly amounts of dollars, which was the original problem I was trying to avoid. Enter JBL, I realized the speaker brand that went from “a few of your buddies ride or die by this brand” to a sound-junkie staple was IDEAL. I shopped around, looked at similar Skullcandy models, other brands similar in price but also not offering anything better than passive noise cancellation. The comparable Skullcandy model (price wise, at least) has worse battery life, primarily because it uses (imo) a ridiculous number of microphones for Active Noise Cancellation. At the time of my purchase, the Skullcandy model also costed slightly more which made even less sense. I find the noise cancellation on these to be easily comparable to the AirPod Pros I have used before. Especially with music playing, I cannot hear a single thing outside of my little bubble. I’ve used these at work for two days straight without ever having to plug them in. They connect to my phone with ease and the buttons on the side are very useful. The audio quality is crystal clear, and I often use these in the car instead of my stereo. These things perform beautifully. The JBL app is also a stroke of genius, allowing me all the customizability that Apple tries to prevent me from having with any non-Apple products. The different equalizer modes are absolutely killer too. I only have two small gripes. For some reason, the lowest noise cancellation setting jacks up the outside microphone’s volume but completely mutes my music without pausing it. So I can hear if someone is talking to me, but there’s not even a hint of the song I was listening to. This is a little disappointing compared to the AirPods transparency mode. The second one is that the ear cans on this thing are slightly too small for my ears, and I’m pretty sure I have relatively typical ear-size (elementary school kids would have made sure I knew if I had some Dumbo-sized ears yanno!). Wearing the headphones for hours at a time makes the cartilage on the side and top of my ear sore, and if they had like a millimeter or two more diameter that could be fixed. All in all, I consider these to be five star worthy because it’s an excellent value for the price. I absolutely love these things, and I hope they will last me a good while. I will be back to update my review on their durability after having owned them for longer. ... show more

Absolutely worth to buy for the price, these headphones are such high quality and Ibuse them everyday. They have noise cancellation which works pretty well when i’m in loud environments. The sound quality is amazing and with the app, you’re able to adjust different things on the sound. They charge fairly quick and last for a pretty long time. Very high quality with excellent sound quality. Very long battery life and charge very quickly. Lightweight and very compact. Easy to pair with phone or other devices such as ipods. Appreciate the buttons vs. touchpad for volume adjustment, rewind and fast forward. Sound canceling is better than average. JBL app is great and has a built in equalizer as well as being able to adjust right/left balance which few headphones can do. Also has various sound shapes and bass boast. Deep clean bass is better than most, excellent as is the entire range. The only drawback is that I wish the headphone cushions, while comfortable, would be a tad bit larger. And I have somewhat small ears. Even though I've used these on international flights, after about 3 hours, they become a bit uncomfortable. Not sweaty, just uncomfortable. In this review, I'll be comparing these headphones to the JBL 510BT. When I first started using the headphones, the sound was AWFUL compared to the 510BT. They were really smart with implementing the equalizer in the app. It took me awhile to get the equalizer right, but now the sound is pretty decent. I'm a mom of two, so I make use of the ambient aware mode frequently. It works pretty well as long as you have the volume low. As for the noise cancelling mode, I only use that if I'm watching something or trying to listen to a podcast or audiobook. The noise cancelling is pretty decent as well. As for noise leaking, the 510BT leaked SO bad, but I don't think the noise leak is nearly as bad on these headphones, which is kind of the point of noise cancelling. As for battery, my 510BT would last two to three days. I still have yet to say how well these last with all day usage. ... show more

I really wanted to love these headphones. The price was not too bad and they have good reviews. The noise cancelling is very good and the sound aware mode is great for being able to hear the ambient noises around you like the door bell or the phone or someone talking to you, etc. That said, they are great. The deal breaker is the fit. They fit snug. So snug my ears hurt horribly after wearing them for just about any time at all. I have a small to average head but they squeeze so hard they become super uncomfortable. My Bose Quiet Comfort 45's are so comfortable, even after 8 hours of wearing them! And, no one can beat the noise cancelling of Bose. The price difference is quite vast though. The Bose are much pricier but the quality shows in the fit and finish as well as sound. If you can afford the Bose, go with those. If you are only going to wear these for short periods of time, then they are a good deal. But keep in mind that after a while, your ears are going to beg you to get these off of them asap! Best wishes and good luck! ... show more
