Ok, I am a Hue junkie, I'll admit that. But these big suckers are the best. Big and bright. Amazing color range (unlike the first gen bulbs). The plugs are a bit less thought out. The power supply will only hold a certain wattage, and that means you can only daisy chain two of them (which is below the max wattage rating of the power supply), but it's a minor thing. Love all Hue products, just an FYI - this says it comes with a 40 watt power supply. It does not come with any power supply, you have to purchase that separate. It’s a great spot light to go with all my other hue lights.

I was able to fully light my front and back yard using the Hue system. The iOS app is straight forward and easy to use. I set up a timer and my lights look amazing. I saved about $10,000+ doing it myself. ONE SUGGESTION: Be sure to do the software and firmware updates for the bridge and each light BEFORE placing them in your yard. Spot on! But mostly only if using white light. So easy vs the other traditional method of low voltage wire and a costly transformer and then tapping lights along the wire run. This is a one stop complete solution with excellent features. Just be-careful not to over tighten the connectors they seem to create a seal and are very hard to get off…and tighten/loosen opposite than standard. Cable can be a bit thick but seems weather proofed! Big con and problem is all other Hue colors other than White are not as bright! Wish all colors projected as much. ... show more

How can anyone give this less than 5 stars!!! I was kind of worried that it would not be bright enough or cover as much area as I hoped but it did way better than expected. Worked excellent with my Alexa and did a dusk to dawn routine with no problems. I recently looked into getting outdoor lighting put in by a lighting company and the cost was a little more than $1500.00, but I'm doing this for a little less than half the cost with a features the other does not have. These lights (I bought two) are solid, just as you'd expect from the Hue line. They're a little larger than I expected (much larger than the regular outdoor spots) and they have great output. If you already have a Hue system, these will integrate right in. Realize that you'll of course need a Hue Bridge for these to work correctly. ... show more
