So let me start by saying this was a nightmare to install. It took us hoursssss, every single individual piece of wood was separated and there were 248 parts to install. However, that is only for the initial installation, if you ever want to move and take it apart you will not need to take all the parts and remove them. You’ll only really need to disconnect the two head boards, the slide, and the ladder once it’s assembled. Putting it all together for the first time is the hardest part, there were so many different types of screws and no words in the manual but I will say once you understood the way it was explaining to install the parts it became much easier to do. Installing it was not difficult but just time consuming and my husband and I both worked together to install it bc you will need two people to hold one side of the headboard up while the other screws it in place, none of it is heavy while you’re installing it but the box itself with everything inside of it weighs a couple hundred lbs so make sure you have 2 VERY strong men to help you carry and lift it into the room you’re installing it. My husband and I used absolutely all of our strength to get it up our stairs into our kids room and I’ll be honest it was a workout and we had to sit and drink some water after lol. Once it’s completed though the quality is very good and it’s not flimsy whatsoever (if you screwed the screws in securely). We did not attach the screws on the back for the slide or the ladder as we enjoyed being able to remove them when we needed to vacuum the floor and even without the screws on the back there are safety grips to hold them in place as well as the hooked attachments which keep them VERY secure in place during play and use. Ladder and slide do not wobble and after monitoring my 2 and 4 yr old for 20 minutes to ensure all manner of play is safe I can say from an overprotective mothers standpoint it has my seal of approval. My only concern is the metal rod used for stability on the under side I’d suggest the manufacturer perhaps have it where it’s concealed within another piece of wood or something to protect little ones heads. I will attach video and pictures of what I mean. I also want to add I love the sturdiness and quality of the slide, it’s strong and I had my doubts but I’ve watched my kids run up the slide and there’s no cracking or change in quality of the slide it’s strong and supports the weight of my kids. We set this up yesterday and it took almost for hours, but it feels sturdy and looks great and my daughter loves it! It's short enough that the top bunk is completely reachable for me (5'10) and the slide is low enough not to make me nervous for my toddler, and the bottom bunk is just barely off the floor so she can sleep in it without worries of a dangerous fall. I feel good about the construction after seeing how it all went together, and everything was labeled really well, it just took time and patience. The box was heavy, so getting it upstairs was a little difficult but if you're doing it alone, you could open it and bring up the pieces individually. Overall very happy with it so far! ... show more

    • Very sturdy, perfect for toddlers
We bought this for our almost 2 and 3 year old sons. First off this bed is VERY sturdy and well made. We had concerns about them being too young for bunk beds but it isn’t too tall which is good. If your kids can climb the stairs at a park then the ladder is no issue. Some reviews said the slide was super fast but we haven’t had any problems yet. Now let me warn you this bed has a lot of pieces and it took us 4 hours to put together (with both kids wanting to “help”) and my husband used a drill we did not hand screw like the directions said. Once we got the hang of step one it went easier but it was frustrating at times. We put 8 inch mattress on both. The bottom is your traditional mattress and the top we ordered on Amazon so it’s not as heavy and bulky. But like I said it is VERY sturdy and the kids are loving it!! I am 5’6 and the top rail hits me right at my chest. It’s the perfect height for our 3 year old that wanted a slide bunk bed but tosses and turns all night. We did not want her falling out of bed. We’ve had the hardest time getting her to sleep in her room and have tried every trick in the book. This bed solved our problem! She thinks it’s so cool and feels like a big girl in it. Assembly is impossible to understand from the manual, so you’ll need to google the bed and follow the YouTube video. Even the YouTube video moves quickly so you’ll find yourself frustrated. There were some holes that didn’t line up evenly on the slide and that drove us crazy but we finally made it work. If you find IKEA future tough, this is the black belt fight. The overall quality and sturdiness is good, except for the slide that has a flimsy feeling panel that goes inside the rivets. I included a photo of where you can see it doesn’t line up perfectly when assembled but there is nothing sharp or seemingly unsafe about it. It’s an affordable bed and the material aligns with the price point, but not to where it feels like it will fall apart. The wood seems to be solid and not hollow. Took my husband about 12 hours to put together and he’s pretty fast usually. If you’re buying for a toddler, and nervous about the height, make sure to get a 5-6” mattress (MAX) for the top, so the guardrails actually keep your child from falling off. We had a regular twin mattress in it and laying flat, the top rail was not higher than it. She moves a lot at night and it hasn’t been an issue. I absolutely love this bed. I'll start at the beginning. Delivery was fast as always and the driver was very nice. The box was in great condition and when we opened the box everything was so beautifully organized and wrapped. My husband laid the pieces out in order by number and it took him a few hours to put together. Assembly went smoothly the only thing I would complain about is the instructions, there were no words just pictures and that caused some confusion at times. The color of the bed is what I was expecting and the wood is nice quality with no cracks, chips, or smell. This was an awesome experience from start to finish and our 3 yr old loves it. Ordered this product on Prime day. the package is very heavy and needs at least two people to move. But our experience started with the assembly - the parts used are inadequately labelled, and you will be left guessing and scrambling to find the right nut or screw. Assembly was a NIGHTMARE and took two experienced adults a good 4 hours to setup, ONLY to find out that the slide attachment came with a redundant and incorrect part ( two part # 25s instead of a 25 and 26) which rendered the slide useless and the very purpose of choosing this model was the slide for the kids. What a disappointment! But this is where the troubles began. There was NO response from Max and Lily when I lodged a report through their website with a picture, not even an acknowledgement that they received the complaint. WORSE.. I was appalled by Amazon.com's customer service - in two days I spent about two hours being transferred across 6-8 reps ..3 of whom claimed to be from their "leadership" team but flatly refused to replace the faulty part or product with a like or different colored model..apparently because the return window closed and irrespective of their 90 day warranty promise! The whole experience with amazon.com was an eye opener to how bad things have become. Their "leadership" team has no initiative, or latitude to correct a genuine customer complaint and need. Just figure out how to send me ONE missing part! that's too hard! Their "system" does not allow it. Ridiculous! To add insult to injury one of their retail "leaders" costs out the chat saying this is your option..thanks ! and ends the chat. TOTALLY unacceptable that Amazon should even be selling such products and not taking responsibility. PLEASE READ the 1 STAR reviews before buying and you won't regret it! ... show more

After it was put together the bunk beds are safe, low to the ground & good quality. I think people should know that it took my very handy and smart boyfriend and I 5 hours to assemble. It is not easy assembly. We are still dating by some miracle and survived the experience.
