After trying it out, I found that it handled branches with a diameter of less than five centimeters without any problem, whether they were dry or wet. I have taken a video for your reference. This is a great little chipper and it will handle bigger sticks than expected. I was really surprised at how well it works. My other chipper fits on a tractor 3 point hitch and can handle logs up to 6" in diameter so I wasn't expecting much. This is not that type of chipper but it works really well for lite yard and garden work. Depending on the type of wood a stick of 1" or larger diameter can be easily handled. The chipper will pull sticks in automatically if they are smooth but you may need to push them in if they have a lot of protrusions. The chipper comes with a pusher for this purpose. The pusher can also be used for branches with a lot of leaves and not much stick. The removable bin under the chipper if easy to remove/insert but watch the hold in latch. It is easy to get it 'stuck' so it doesn't hold the bin in the chipper. A little wiggle of the latch get it unstuck. The chipped up stuff in the bin is pretty fine and makes good mulch. If vines are chipped up there may be longer pieces of vine that are a few inches long. The biggest drawback is vines and very flexible wood like thin cedar branches. These tend to get wrapped around the cutter disk instead of getting chipped up. You can hear it when this happens and sometimes you can even smell smoke. I keep a pair of needle nosed pliers handy. When a vine gets wrapped around the cutter disk turn off the machine and unplug the power for safety, unscrew the single hold down bolt, open the machine and grab the vine with the pliers. Pull out the vine, there may several pieces that need to be pulled out, and then put the machine back together. The top of the chipper is hinged and folds out of the way when the hold down bolt is loosened. The bolt is captive so it won't get lost. The bolt has a large plastic head so finger strength is all that is required.
