Ordered this pump for an outdoor fountain to replace the original pump. This unit came well packaged, and was easy to set up. What I found was that this is a POWERFUL pump that moves a lot of water. It turned out to have so much flow that it was actually overflowing the return capacity of the fountain. I have replaced it with a pump with half the output, and this has resolved the problem. This pump is very well built but is better suited to a larger, free flowing pond or fountain. Great unit, high output, well built. Highly recommend pump and seller.

Excellent for aquarium but not so good for my application - minuscule outdoor pond. Here is a few thing I did to make it work (please don’t laugh at me): 1. It does not have any fountain tools. I had a set I accidentally bought on Amazon a couple years ago for about $10. Now I’m using it. 2. Problem with outdoor ponds - small garbage (leaves, insects, etc. in the water). You may not see it a water looks crystal clear but this stuff is there. And it clogs the register. As a result the stream is “dying”. I had to clean it twice a week till I found a plastic box from 3” diskettes and put pump in (no cover of course). Then the whole thing I put in a netted bag (Amazon, $5) and now it works for 6 weeks non-stop. That’s the whole story. :-) Good luck.

We put this pump in our water wheel. We would always have problems with expensive pumps not able to keep the wheel moving all the way around without having to stop and then go again. This pump not only can make the wheel go around with barely a slow down in its rotation but it’s the fastest speed we have had with any pump. Not to mention the cheapest.

The media could not be loaded. Super affordable, quiet, powerful enough for a little fountain. We just wanted some water sounds for ambiance and to drown out road noise a bit. Can't speak to longevity, but I love it so far. Will buy again.

This item is total garbage. I've had fish tanks for years, sometimes up to 9 at a time. I know how to care for pumps. This one got cleaned every Saturday, as it's my day to clean my tanks. Because of this rigorous cleaning schedule, my tanks are never dirty and my previous pumps have always worked for years and years. I bought this one because it showed a large water flow (550 gph), and it was fairly cheap. I noticed the water starting to flow slowly, took out the pump to clean it but it wasn't dirty. It's just no longer working correctly. It's barely past the return window. Contacted the seller and they couldn't care less, told me it was probably dirty, to clean it. I've already replaced it with another brand of pump and it's working correctly. Super disappointed in the quality, longevity and customer service. Will avoid this brand and seller in the future. Save your hard earned money and avoid them too.
