I've been bleaching my hair at home too get it light enough to dye silver and I had been dying my hair black so it took a lot of bleach and my hair was suffering so I bought this after reading reviews and made sure to get step 3 even though nobody mentioned it. Steps 1&2 didn't really do anything but step 3! .... I'm about to run my fingers through my hair!!! I haven't been able to do that since I started bleaching and I've bleached it twice plus did 2 bleach washes! Don't get me wrong... My hairs still fragile but at least it's manageable. I am not a trained cosmetologist but have been highlighting and cutting my own hair at home for about 10 years now. A few months ago I wanted to add more highlights to my hair but I didn’t want to damage it any further so I decided to try this and I’m so glad I did! I have to voice my dismay with just step 1 of this product. I changed absolutely nothing EXCEPT I added step 1 to my color mix. Same color, etc. The red it pulled was immediately evident. I don’t know chemistry so not a clue why this happened but I will not be using this again. I HATE red in my hair. HATE IT! The results I got made me irritated. Thank God I just had a small touch up to do. My hair dresser uses the Olaplex bonding in her mix for my hair and it comes out perfect. Serves me right for being cheap. :( ... show more

I personally think this is better than olaplex 3. I guess everyone has different types of hair. Imo the best is the aphogee 2 pack that smells like eggs for super straw fried hair. This is 2nd but would use if hair is only slightly damaged. Don't forget to condition after you rinse this out. Protein builders can actually make hair feel a little like straw until you condition. ... show more
