Omg we are brushing our teeth with this product! I have a poodle that didn’t like getting hit teeth brushed. All you need to do is take a tiny pea sized amount put it on your finger and apply to the teeth. If that doesn’t work..add it to thier favorite treat. Literally that’s all you need to do the enzymes work in thier mouth!! After a few times on the treat my dog let me apolitical it to his teeth. We of course give hime a greenies peanut butter treat after. His teeth are so soft white! I can’t wait for the e vet to see. He’s only 3 so he just lost baby breath…and the vet said hello start to brush!!! We want to avoid any need for surgical dental cleaning!!! This is the only toothpaste I use for my dogs! The don’t mind the taste and it was recommended by my Vet. It is also approved by the VOHC which is always important! Works great!

This is the second toothpaste we've tried with our dog and he likes it better than the first brand. We brush his teeth every night and he lets us without too much fuss. It keeps his breath fresh and tartar on his teeth to a minimal. It's also great that it's VOHC approved! First off, let me qualify that I am a dentist and brush my dog's teeth every day. I have tried two other pastes both vet approved and neither cleaned as well as this. On a scale from 1 -5 my dog tells me the taste is a 3! He loved the taste of the Petrodex so taste-wise he gave it a 5 but it did not clean as well I also used Virbac and the taste was a 3. I tried making my own toothpaste( to save money) with baking soda and coconut oil and the taste was a 0! The Petsmile is a bit pricey but remember a clean mouth is a happy mouth and it beats paying the vet $1000 for a cleaning......My office only gets $ 200! I am in the wrong business! i will continue to use this paste for the efficacy and average taste! ... show more

I decided to commit the time and effort required to provide good oral health to my 6-year old dog. Based on reviews I read, I was hopeful that my dog would like this toothpaste.
