Gates are essential to owning a dog, one way or the other, I always need a barrier. I just got an 8 month old pup, and want to keep him out of a room that has a super wide doorway, the four panel is perfect. This one is freestanding and easy to use. It has a very sturdy design although, a larger or very determined animal would get through it. Most dogs would get the message and that's exactly what I want. We've got a small pup and sometimes need to keep him confined to one room or another. This gate is very portable and is useful for even wider doors. However, since it's not actually anchored to anything it's not that difficult for the dog to push it around and find a way out. If you're not where you can tell the dog "no", then you may need to use a couple of heavy objects (like a jug of juice) to keep it from being moved. Generally, I would not recommend this for a medium to large dog that would be determined to get out. ... show more

I have a French Bulldog and this works to keep him out and he can’t jump over it. As long as it’s placed like the letter M it can’t be toppled over. The color is nice, just a simple wood that’s painted grey. Not outstanding “quality” but sturdy and does the job. Would buy again.

My dog is having TPLO surgery on Friday. I need to keep him confined to his bed for 4 weeks or crate him. Would rather not crate a 90 pound pittie with a bum leg. Instead he can have his comfy bed since this gate fits perfectly around it, the other side sits against the furniture. He’s a good boy so he won’t try to break down the gate which he easily could. Poor craftsmanship, the paint is uneven, any dog regardless of size would just knock this thing over without a second thought. Totally NOT like in the pictures. I rarely say this, but this thing is a total piece of garbage and the people that made it and sold it should be ashamed of themselves for it. Completely USELESS for what it was intended for.
