  • SOLVED THE PROBLEM!!
Had to switch my boy cat to prescription food and he only seems to like the dry version. This made him very thirsty and he was always crying at the bathroom sink for water. I’d be up several times a night, turning on the sink for him. And what about during the day when I’m working?? That doesn’t work for his health and my sanity. Then I found THIS product! Tried a few others, but this one is SILENT, sleek, and small enough to fit on our counter next to the sink. I tried elsewhere in the bedroom and he didn’t like it. So don’t give up on your fur babies, it’s about finding the right product and location! Smell is a big deal. It took a little bit to train him how to use it vs begging at the sink, but one night he figured it out and I celebrated from bed! Success!! Love the automated watering, and I haven’t had any problems with water in the base. It’s easy to clean and I add filtered water from our fridge. Use their QR code to learn of the little pieces needing attention, and how to get filters. I now have two water feeders in our home for one cat, and it’s 100% worth it. He is happier, healthier, and hydrated! It’s worth spending a little more for a quality product, and if you put the effort in to keep it clean, you and your fur babies will love it. ... show more

  • Always leave a backup water source just in case…
Why did you pick this product vs others?: After 6 months of use I have had no issues or complaints and I am happy with this purchase. I was originally worried about the durability and the cost of the replacement filters but I appreciate how much easier this is to clean in the sink and fill without making a mess. The water pump is very easy to disassemble and can be cleaned internally with a sponge. I noticed the water pump will usually stop working if the filter becomes visibly dirty or discolored which is always around two weeks of shared use by 3 cats. The one problem I see is that there’s no way for the cats to access the water if the power goes out because the lid is clamped down and impossible for a cat to break through. The water doesn’t seem to flow when power is restored after a power outage and I’ve had to thoroughly clean the pump and replace the filters to get it work again. Always leave a backup water source just in case. ... show more

  • Good idea, flawed execution, terrible product
I wanted to love this fountain, and was so excited to get the cats and their water off of my bathroom vanity. I bought this using our wired Catit fountain for years with no issue. I just really wanted the cats off my vanity. Unfortunately, I hate this fountain, and wish I’d never bought it. After using it for nearly 6 months, I can unequivocally say it’s a complete waste of money, and I hate it a little more every day. 1) The only way to monitor the water level is by opening up the fountain. The low water sensor is a shut-off. This means the water would be flowing fine in the morning, but would shut off at some point while I was at work, leaving my cats without water. I’m constantly guessing at the water level and checking it, just in case. 2) Like the water, the battery life runs out without warning, so I’m guessing and charging randomly, or my cats are being left without water because it shut off while we were out. 3) It can get knocked of its base incredibly easily by a curious cat who wants to see where the water is coming from. When we’re lucky, she just pops it off the base and it stands up, but they’re out of water until someone comes home and finds it. When we’re unlucky, she knocks it over and the water spills across the floor. The cats are without water, and have water issues with which to contend. 4) The spout and filter cover cannot withstand a curious cat; she pops them off often in her search for the water source. With these off, the water doesn’t really get to the bowl of the fountain, so the cats are without water. Obviously the recurring theme here is the cats without water. 2 issues are what I consider design flaws: no low water/battery warnings. The other 2 issues can be argued between design flaws and an overly curious cat. However, a cat should not be able to dismantle the fountain on a daily basis. Cat Dad has ordered a different fountain and this one will be trashed. Giving it away just seems like a cruel thing to do to the unsuspecting recipient. ... show more

  • very quiet
very quiet. nice water capacity. cats love it and drink a lot more water with the fountain than just bowls on the floor. I would give it 5 stars, but it just randomly stopped working overnight, less than 3 years after purchase

  • Had worked great for almost three years!!
I’ve had this fountain for over two years going on three. It still works really well and I’m honestly surprised at the other problems people are having. Here’s things I’ve noticed and figured out: 1. For me, the water sensor does work and shows a red drop when it’s low - I never have to open the lid to check it. 2. I always leave mine plugged in but I can see where the the automatic sensing doesn’t always detect my cat when I have tested it - I don’t know if she approaches it to slow? However it doesn’t use that much energy and I find it easy just it leave plugged in - it makes hardly any noise! 3. They really made it easy to clean as long as you know what parts to pay attention to - ESPECIALLY the pump block. If you’re water is going slow or not coming out check that first bc that’s usually always the culprit. That block can easily disassemble, showing the holes and even fan/motor and this is usually where gunk builds up and affects the water flow. It’s easy to put back together 4. Finally my cat loves it and drinks so much more water than what she does with just bowls of water :)!!! ... show more

  • Took a couple days but he loves it
Ypdate: after about 3 months the water fointain has failed. I replaced the pump but it is not the pump which failed, it is the base. If I turn it off and turn it back in and set the bowl on top of the base it will work for about 5-10 seconds and then the power light flashes red and it shuts off. I ordered a replacement which I wanted the version which stays plugged in so that maybe the base wouldn't fail again, but that version stays running/flowing all the time and does not have a sensor built in. Due to the failure and the pump not fixing and the plug in version not having a sensor so it doesn't run constantly, I have replaced with a different brand all together which does not have the power plug/port at the bottom of the bowl. My cat is rough sometimes with the fountain which knocks water on the floor and then creates moisture around the power plug area of these petlibro fountains and I am wondering if that could be one reason for the premature failure? The wall plug that came with it also is difficult to get to stay in the wall outlet so I switched to a better one and I also wonder if using a different power brick to charge may have caused the failure? I might not ever know the answers to why, but my cats were depressed for a few days while I was trying to sort everything out and get a fountain working again. Ultimately I switched to a different brand with sensor, battery, and the power is not connected at the base (under the water bowl), so I may have a better outcome. I have one cat that would Jump into the bathtub 50x a day and want the water turned on. Decided to get this and it is so perfect, it doesn't have to be plugged in so I put it right next to the tub. The battery stays charged for 2-3 weeks at a time and charges in an hour or so. This is easy to clean, refill, maintain and my water hog loves it so much ❤️ it did take 2-3 days for him to get comfortable with it, but now he is constantly entertaining himself with this and drinking from it. He seems to get mad when it turns off and jumps up to make the sensor start the pump again lol. ... show more

  • Easiest to clean fountain with 1 hiccup**
We have 3 cats. One figured out how to turn on our kitchen island sink when he wants water. We'd honestly be fine with this (well water) but for some reason he believes to turn off the sink, you move the faucet. He has flooded our kitchen several times*. He's lucky he's cute. Needless to say, we've tried several water fountains. We had been using one brand for years. It worked great, but we were not the greatest at cleaning it often. It had a large enough setup that fur and such fell in a lot, so it was sort of an issue, but part our fault. I don't remember how I found this PetLibro fountain, but I was intrigued by the design and decided to try it. Let me say, I love it so much, I bought 3 for around the house. First of all, it has a smaller footprint than our last. It is way, way easier to clean. The base is what is plugged in (though it charges, so can be run for a while not plugged in). To clean then, you just pick up the bowl & walk it over to a sink to clean. This made a huge difference for us. All the cats seem to like it - even the trouble maker who only drank out of the previous fountain if he had to. The filters are easy to change, and do a great job clearing out fur, etc. As I said, we love it. There are two hiccups for us - one being solely our situation. Let me address that first. We also have a shepherd. Our shepherd for some reason decided he needed to drink out of the fountain (he was never interested in the other). The fountains were obviously not designed for 70+ lbs dogs, so we had to fill them several times a day, and the dog spilled water everywhere. Fortunately, PetLibro released a dog fountain that does filter as well, it's just not as easy to clean as it has a traditional corded pump. The other hiccup, which is a product issue, is the motor. The motor needs replaced often - we're talking once every month- 3 months (we're unsure yet as we've just figured this is an issue and haven't tracked it). Now the pumps in these (general) pet fountains don't last. They are like fish tank pumps - you're often lucky to get a year. Though these wireless PetLibro ones seem to have a much shorter lifespan - maybe as they are wireless? For us, at roughly $12 per replacement motor, it is not a deal breaker. The ease of cleaning is so worth it, and you can Subscribe & Save the motor and get them a little cheaper. But it is a hiccup with the fountain. Would I recommend these? 100% Just keep in mind the motor. Oh, and another plus - if your power goes out, since the base charges, it still will run water. It switches to the motion mode where the water runs only when something walks up to it. * if you happen to have a sink turning on cay like us, I will recommend you search for a motion sensing faucet attachment (screw on like a Brita filter) It took our cat a bit to figure it out (even the smart one), but none of them turn on the water, or move the faucet & flood the kitchen. We prefer the one available that recharges and turns off automatically after 2 minutes. I also recommend the dog PetLibro fountain, but will review it when I've had it longer. ** I was cleaning the fountains today and discovered there were 2 small panels to take off the motor that allows me to clean them more thoroughly. From past experience, I'm confident this will solve the motor issue. At the very least, get more life out of them. ... show more
