Truly, a lifesaver. I am so extremely grateful for this product and it has been nothing but a positive experience. This device gives me so much mental clarity when I know I’m going to be home outside of my usual hours, or gone for a day or two. It’s very precise, as well as has great video feed to see your animals. The feeder dispenses on average 10 g of food per serving, and for my male 16 pound cat, he’s supposed to eat around 100 g a day based off the food he eats. I have it timed so he receives 30 g in the morning, 20g in the afternoon, 30g for dinner, then 10g for a late night snack since he’s a bored eater. All super convenient and helps your pet have a set feeding schedule while not needing to forget or being able to not be home for a bit. You do have to pay either $3 to have one day worth of video replay capabilities, or $6/month to have video footage for up to a week which is kind of lame in my opinion but company is going to do what they can do to get residual income. I think one of the best things about this product is that you can also put batteries in it so in case the electricity goes out, it will still feed your pet. Similarly, what’s really nice is even if your Wi-Fi crashes, it will still feed your pet, which definitely blew me away.

We got this as a way to dispense our dogs meds at specific times if we weren’t home. It works great. We put the food in one side of the bin and the meds in the other and you can have them dispensed at different times (meds at breakfast and dinner, meals at breakfast, lunch, and dinner). They make updates to the app pretty consistently. The video is really nice when we are away to be able to see if things were dispensed and our dog ate them. There are some funny captions that didn’t translate well from Chinese to English, but they’re more funny than problematic.

When I first recieved this feeder it wouldn't connect to the app at all. But after taking to Petkit support they sent a replacement base out and that worked perfectly! Usually when I have to talk to support about a product I deduct stars but I really appreciate that Petkit just sent replacement parts without me having to send anything back first. They solved my issue in the most convenient way for me. The feeder itself is great, large enough for my two cats, reliable with despensing food and very smart. Tells you when to replace the desiccant packet and when the feeder runs out of food. Camera works good too. It also has a battery backup so your pets still get food even if the power goes out. Overall Petkit makes great products that may be pricey upfront, but are built well and are genuially useful.

Works perfect. It has a plug in and it also takes D batteries in case the power goes out. I have scheduled feedings set (1/10cup) for every 6 hours and I pour 1/2 a bag of wet food in the bowl twice a day. The bowl wipes cleans very easily doesn’t stick. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because a separate subscription is required, after the 1 week trial ends, for video playback on both of my petkit devices (purobot ultra litterbox and dual hopper feeder). Live video works fine no subscription required.

I purchased mine from Amazon Warehouse. It came used and smelly, even though it was supposed to be in a like new condition. I could not return it as there wasn't another one in stock so I attempted to make it work. It did not and it was a faulty unit, which was likely why it was in the Amazon Warehouse. However, I reached out to Petkit and they confirmed that my unit was faulty and sent me a new unit, which I got the next day. I am incredibly pleased with Petkit, so I wanted to share my experience beyond the first unit. For full disclosure, and because I hope it helps someone else, the first unit I got had a damaged mother board and would not read the time correctly. If I wanted to use the machine, I had to manually dispense food via the app and it would not work on the timer. Sometimes it would be an hour off, other times it would be 6 hours off. The replacement Petkit gave me works excellently. It has two hoppers and I keep a raw dehydrated food in the first hopper, and a kibble dry food in the second hopper. My dog is a medium size dog, and she gets about 2 portions of the raw food and 4 portions of the kibble, 3 times a day. In total, it's "18 servings" on the app. I followed the recommendation online of portion size, as before this machine, our dog was free fed and grazed. I like that I can keep two different types of food. I also like I can confirm who is eating the food. We have a cat, and sometimes they like to eat dog food and we were trying to monitor when/if that was happening. I also like that the bowl that comes with the machine is stainless steel and is easy to clean. What I don't like is cleaning the machine itself. We've had it for almost 2 months now, and I've cleaned it once already and I found the parts difficult to assemble again after taking apart. It did fit in my dishwasher, though. I also do not like the app - I find some of the translations difficult to understand, and the interface is clunky. I also do not like having to pay for clips of my pet, but I do like that I can see the camera on demand. I'm not familiar with other Petkit products, but I would be willing to try out their other ones because I had a great experience with a replacement machine when I was sent a faulty one. I hope this helps others know if this machine is a good fit for their dog. Our dog can be a little enthusiastic while eating, so I also appreciate that this machine is sturdy and does not topple over.
