Works well the only reason it’s not perfect for me is because I like to mess with my hair all day long and it doesn’t feel as nice with product in it. But you get exactly what you would expect and it’s great quality. Also make sure when you use this product that your hands are dry when you rub it into your hands. I like the hold and shine. Minus 1 star bc I'm not sure if i got a bad one but the texture is difficult to work with. It was a little dry and hard to emulsify in my hand.

This is one of my favorites. Anytime I hop out of the shower and get ready to style, I find myself reaching for the jar. My hair is shoulder length, with medium/thick hair and this product does what I want it to do perfectly. I recommend the sea salt spray as well if you want super voluminous hair days like I do. My hair does tend to eat the product after a few hours of no hairspray, but somehow it still looks amazing as its falling. If you're looking for something to shape your hair in any way or form, definitely recommend to anyone to at least try! ... show more

    • Decent For Fine Hair, But Not Worth The Price
Style: a) Hair Putty 2 oz.
Before this stuff, I was using Paul Mitchell re-Works, which is a texture cream, in my fine, straight hair. A 5oz tube of that stuff would typically last me the better part of 7-8 months. However, the hold with it wasn't great with just a little bit, so my hair ended up feeling sticky and cakey for the amount I needed to use (not a lot). And if my hair was longer than an inch or so, forget it, as it would do nothing but gunk up my head. I would be able to restyle during the day, but it would look worse with a lot of tweaking. I've used a wax stick (Tigi Bed Head and Loreal) in the past too (would rub it into hands and work through hair), and that stuff worked but felt awful in my hair and took 3 shampoos to completely get out. Turn to this putty, after stumbling on Aaron's videos. Been using it for about a week now, and it works. Does it work really well? Eh. It does the job for the most part. Following Aaron's guide (style, apply wet, blow dry, apply a bit more to dry hair) it makes my hair look more 'fluffy' than anything. It also makes my hair feel a bit dried out, and that's even after using conditioner. Granted I'm growing my hair out currently, so it's in a bit of a mid-phase, but I expected better results. It is a bit more 'natural' feeling than other products, but still leaves the hair with a bit of a sticky residue. The scent is mild and pretty neutral. Think floral citrus with a hint of spice. Once its in your hair, you won't be reminded of the product via its scent, and no one else will smell it unless they are checking you for lice. Where this product completely falters is the price. At $19+shipping for 2oz of product, there is no way this is a good value. Based on my 1 week use, the jar will last maybe 3 months? It just doesn't work well enough (or much different than cheaper products) to justify the cost. Almost $10/oz is more expensive than almost any 'salon quality' product on the market. Drop the price down to the $14 range and I'd consider it a decent value. But at $19, there's no way I'm dipping back into this bucket. At first, I was annoyed with the higher base price compared to other men's hair products and having to pay the $5 for shipping when I could get other hair products with free Two-Day Prime shipping. However, the shipping was extremely quick, and the product itself is out of this world. I might sign up for the subscription plan to cut shipping costs in the future now that I know how good this stuff is. First off, the putty smells absolutely amazing. It's like a mix of some type of floral lavender and maybe some clean soap. It also has a very strong hold and very little shine. I haven't had any of the flaking problems that some others are talking about. I do recommend, though, taking the time to rub it in to your dry hands thoroughly and evenly before applying. The jar of product should also last me a long time because I find myself using very little product in each application because of how strong the hold is, while an application of the product does indeed hold hair for the whole day. In the future, I may check out Pete and Pedro's pomade because I think my current, subtle hairstyle actually is better complemented by shinier products, but it's easy to add shine, if desired, with the putty by adding some leftover hairspray, pomade, or gel into the mix. Anyway, definitely give this stuff a shot if you are looking for a great styling product with high hold and low shine for short to medium length and thick (or thinner) men's hair. EDIT 1/9/17: I have now tried P&P pomade too, and it's great, but the putty is really what I'm looking for for my current hairstyle. I just had an AMAZING hair day with the putty, and I can say it beats all the big competitors out there, namely American Crew Fiber. Aside from the amazing smell of the putty, it holds exactly how you leave it ALL day. It doesn't become slightly droopy and lose a bit of hold after a few hours like American Crew Fiber does. My hair also feels a bit healthier after using the putty versus when I used the fiber. DEFINITELY give this putty a shot. ... show more
