We needed a floor lamp for our living room to better fit with our furniture so I ordered this lamp. I love that it has a remote control and the fact that it sticks to the lamp itself is awesome. The remote makes it so convenient when the lamp is behind furniture or out of the way. The floor switch is handy for the same reason. The only thing I did not care for is that the bulb the lamp comes with is not very bright so for a larger space it is not convenient. I think if I had two of the lamps it would brighten the room like we would like. I did purchase a brighter light to use with the lamp which makes the brightness just right, however, the remote does not work with other bulbs even though I purchased dimmable bulbs. Would have to order replacements from the company I guess. The lamp is super easy to set up and install. Pretty self-explanatory. The media could not be loaded. This ISN'T just a light and a stand. It's so much more... Just read. The bulb is absolutely just... Wow! Just WOW. Let me tell you.... I am a busy person. Just always going and going... And going. I'm tired, and I have been yearning for some R&R here lately. I desperately need it. This bulb, paired with the shade, is, in a way, offering me a middle ground. At night or early morning I have turned on this light, set it to some very soothing music (provided internally through the app might I add) and I feel like I'm the only person in the world. The app includes all of these custom scenes (such as thors night which is like a thunderstorm effect) that change the color and rythm of the light, at different speeds with different effects. Then you can create your own scene. I am able to control the color changes, both the speed and effect, making it look like I am sitting in the middle of a galaxy on a stormy night... And it's absolutely the most soothing and amazing thing. I cannot believe how this bulb and lamp shade has seriously provided the peace and tranquility I really crave at this time. That's not even all though... Not only can I add my own music, but I can set the light to use my microphone in which it can now hear my voice, my Bluetooth speaker, or my TV... Picture watching an intense scary or exciting movie and you've got lights, that you can customize, flashing along side it. I cannot wait till our next movie night! You can control the rhythm of the lights, and how they change from one color to the next, in terms of speed and effect. You can completely change the hue and control the warmth or the coolness of the light. It really is an amazing bulb. The lamp itself: it's very sturdy. That is important because I have little ones running around. The base is heavily weighted and not going to tip over. This is considered a reading lamp, so it's not too tall, perfect to stand next to your favorite recliner or reading space. Love the adjustability of the shade, as that adds to the convenience and the functionality of the entire set up. The shade. It kinda brings everything together. The material of this shade is perfect and allows these beautiful colors to just surround the area. It was definitely a awesome combination with the bulb. My only issue with this whole set up, which has me a little disappointed... Given the price and the characteristics of this product... Is that there is no remote to control the bulb. It's either the app on your phone, or there is a push (foot) button that turns this off and on. It would be hard to control all of the features with one remote, but it would still provide some convenience. I'm going to look into whether the bulb manufacturer has one available. Even with this drawback, I still had to give this light and stand 5 stars, based of the overall effect it has on me. This isn't just a light and a stand. It's an experience..     • Should be used as a reading lamp and not a room lamp

Unboxing: Everything in order, no parts missing. I wasn't a fan of the plastic wrapping on each piece of the stand but not a big deal. Assembly: Directions are straight forward and explain assembly. My one concern would be attaching the black hood stop to the lamp. The instructions for it were vague and the diagram didnt show where the black plastic ring goes. I knew where it goes because this isnt my first lamp and logically if you tried putting it somewhere else, the lamp wouldnt stay on, but the instructions dont do a good job of explaining where it goes. Lamp hood has to be assembled as well but thankfully the means it which its built made me feel good about it holding up and lasting. Snaps well onto the ring and the velcro holding the ends together is pretty sturdy. The base of the lamp is very heavy and I dont expect this to get knocked over anytime soon. Functionality: Awesome. Remote works great and the 4 light settings really give you any sort of light you might be looking for. Additionally, there is a floor switch attached to the power cord, which is pretty awesome. Use: Because of the height, light brightness and the ability to easily tilt the hood this light really shines as a reading lamp. I had intended on using this to light a room and then convert to light to use while I practice guitar after the kiddos go to bed but it doesn't put out enough light to fill the whole room. The remote is very responsive despite appearing to be the best quality. I would've liked to have had controls on the unit itself in the event the remote breaks or goes missing. ... show more
