JUNK! Appears to have a spring in the base that holds the gel when cool. When you turn it on the spring comes up and partially holds the gel while the rest of the gel is trying to flow. Constantly shaking it trying to get the spring back in place. There is no product support. I suggest purchasing a different Mfg product! Amendment... The Seller has reached out and is making the situation right. Offered a refund or replacement. Cannot ask anymore than that. I am waiting the replacement. The first time I bought it, it lasted a good while but cracked at the bottom and broke after about 1 year of 1/2 an hour of use daily. When it cracked it made a loud noise and the liquid inside started coming out, so I had to throw it out. I did buy a new one and they always work beautifully, but I do want to warn people about the possibility of cracking, and it also gets really, really hot all over by an hour of use. ... show more

Beautiful! Like the instructions say, make sure the bulb is centered and give the lamp a good 40 minutes to heat up, the first time. After that, it will melt the wax much quicker. Don't ask me why, it's just what we experienced. I would buy another one in a different cold.

UPDATE: Customer service sent me a refund and 2 replacement lamps, which was nice and great service, but both the replacement lamps are HORRIBLY cloudy. You can't see any of the wax inside the lamps. And the boxes weren't dropped or damages so the orange lamps are 100% faulty and garbage. Buy another color, do not buy the orange ones! I bought a purple/pink one and it looks great so it's the orange ones that are completely defective and it's not because of shipping problems. I bought two of these lamps and both are so cloudy that you can’t see the wax inside. They were on for hours and moving around great inside but sooo cloudy. I would think it was a fluke but both are bad. I bought a different lamp from a different company that I shared a photo of - so clear!! I’m going to have to return these. We got this lava lamp for our son for his birthday. We are new to lava lamps, and at first I was nervous about some of the wax that seemed to be stuck on the side. I was also not sure at first if it was going to be as cool as I was hoping as the wax was not moving as much in the beginning due to it still being heated by the bulb. However, not long after we got it going, it was working exactly how I was hoping it would work! We have been super happy with it. Not long after having it, however, my son accidently broke the bulb. I ended up contacting customer service in hopes of purchasing a replacement bulb, knowing the issue was due to our own fault not the company's. They responded right away and were incredibly kind and easy to work with to replace the broken bulb! This lava lamp was a little more money than some of the other options we were looking into but not by much. We chose this one because we wanted this color combo over the other slightly cheaper options. We have no regrets and have been very happy with the purchase! The media could not be loaded. Bought it in order to get through post-Christmas tree, dreadful & gloomy January-March days. This thing is slow mesmerizing and delightful for my soul! All three of my kids loved it (they kept staring at it for a long time) and what can I say… I like this 90s/eary 2000s vibe! Super happy with the product. The blue exterior doesn’t quite go with our modern interiors, so I’ll probably end up spray paint it later… but I got this one specifically for the color of the glitter which is not completely silver or blue (has gentle purple/light pink + mix of blue on top of general silver glitter). * the product does come off easily! That’s just how the product is. Very easy to assemble though. ** it does get very HOT after a while. HOWEVER, if you know physics, heat is the exact reason the glitter moves up and down. So if you want motion, it will be hot. Just the way product is designed. *** the video/photo is edited so that the glittering is more or less close to how it appears to my eyes. The color of the outer metal (blue part) is more vividly blue. ... show more
