The construction seems solid enough. The parts fit together fairly snugly, but I'd still recommend using some epoxy to hold everything together (but I do this for all the cheapish solar lights out there). The one main issue I have with these, and the reason I took a star is because the plastic stake is fairly weak. It's not an issue if the ground is soft, and you put these in deep enough (I have half the metal tube pushed into the ground to keep them stable). But when using on hard ground, the stakes bend very easily. Like yeah, I understand that they are just plastic, but it seems too flimsy even for plastic. But other than that, I have no complaints. The bulb has a nice flicker. I kind of wish it was a little brighter, but meh.. The solar cells and battery combo work well enough for me. It's the middle of summer, but they stay on all night and don't dim. I've bought six packs of these, and so far, two months in, all 48 are still going strong. ... show more

These are the best solar lights on the market, hands down. Every single one works right out of the box. And they keep working!! They light up at dusk and stay lit until the early morning. My yard is filled with way too many solar lights and most are short lived or rarely work with no rhyme or reason. These however are as consistent as they are beautiful. They have a realistic flame flicker without the risks of actual flames. They mark the end of my driveway. Line around my patio and in the perimeter of my yard. I bought a set of 8 of these solar-powered orange-red flame torch lights to line my driveway and walkway leading to house for Halloween last year. No wires or tools needed to install, super easy. The lights absorb the solar rays during the day and automatically light up like clockwork once it gets dark. They look great! I’ve had these for three years now and they were good for the first year, then about half stopped lighting up due to some sort of buildup on the solar panel itself, two broke due to kids falling on them. Epoxy worked to fix but dont expect these to last for long being in the sun the plastic gets brittle and starts to fade after a few months. Otherwise overall a cool effect for some ambient outdoor lights but these only provide a sense of direction in pitch black do not expect these to light up a yard. ... show more
