this is a great system for "concert taping" as long as you understand its limitations. everything is very high quality with good construction. i was able to take the individual transceivers, clip them to my hat in a stereo formation, record a concert live, and not worry about audio levels or clipping at all because of the 32 bit float technology. the quiet parts were quiet and the loud parts were loud and everything was crystal clear with no distortion. the system records onto the onboard memory of each transceiver in MONO. you can use the receiver to remote-start the recording, but they will not be perfectly synched. you MUST be recording in split routing, and then you MUST clap into the middle of the stereo field and then manually shift the tracks in audacity using the clap as a reference before you merge into stereo, otherwise there will be an audible delay gap between the left and right stereo channels! and if there is clipping on the 32 bit float track you MUST go into audacity -> effect -> normalize otherwise you will not be getting the full quality during playback. if you plug the receiver into your iphone you can also use the audio as an input source for recording videos with the RODE Capture iphone app. you won't need to worry about syncing the audio but you also won't get the 32 bit float fidelity. you will get 24 bit. turn on the auto-gain it will be acceptable as an initial track, then you can swap with the 32 bit later if you really want to. all of this said, if you understand the workflow and the limitations, the system is great. made in australia. 5 year warranty. comes with two bonus lavalier microphones that are valued separately at $100 each. what else could you possibly want. you wanna record a concert, you get this. ... show more

Let go of Rode wireless Go 2, got a DJI Mic2, but had to go back to Rode Wireless Pro because the sound quality of Rode is better than the rest. This is one of the best mini mics in terms of value for money. And they are durable, built rugged. I have used lots of these mics, even though Rode might not have all those new fancy features and might be bulky, I’ll recommend a Rode any day due to the unbeaten sound quality. ... show more

These mics have been one of the most reliable pieces of gear I have used in the field. The sound quality is excellent, with really effective noise cancellation. Even in noisy environments, the clarity holds up, and the 32-bit float recording adds peace of mind by giving you plenty of room to adjust levels in post without clipping. There is occasionally a faint buzz when boosting gain in post, but it is manageable and usually easy to fix. The on-board backup recordings help in tough situations where your main feed might get compromised. What really impressed me was the build quality and included accessories. The lav mics screw directly into the transmitter, which is huge. People tug on cables constantly, and this small detail prevents a lot of headaches. I also recommend picking up some hypo-allergenic tape for those scenarios where talent is sweaty, moving a lot, or you just need extra hold. That simple addition makes a big difference during long shoots or physical scenes. I have also used these as basic shotgun mics in certain situations, and they pick up ambient sound surprisingly well. They are great for foley recording or capturing natural audio in a pinch. My rating is ONLY for straight out of the box first use which is what I did. I didn't have time to configure anything. I literally took them straight out of the box and used them on their first production. They performed great. We got a decent production out of them. There was some issue that I haven't identified yet where there was some clicking. It could have been the talent rubbing up against the jack for the lav mic, but I'm not sure. It could have just been over saturation. I'll put more time in and see what happens on the next shoot. For the most part it did the job and didn't distract from the shoot too much with clear and audible signal. We had planes fly over and helicopters and still got really good signal.
