I had been looking at different thermal cameras for a number of weeks, finally I broke down and bought two (one was the lower resolution and the other was this device). If you're on the fence or not sure if your application is "important" enough for the higher resolution model than you've not researched these thoroughly. The image quality and accuracy on this device is amazing. Walking around my house I've uncovered numerous interesting things: studs behind walls (absorbed heat from the sun), footprints on the floor after you step on it, electrical wires and conduit, breaker temps, etc. It's very easy to use (make sure you do the image calibration activity, just takes a few minutes) and very accurate. ... show more

while the manufacturer stated a resolution og 640x480 pixels, no images saved on disk could be configured to be above 320x240. I returned both items purchased. My application was different. For the IR, I needed either an absolute color scale option, or a temperature data option for each pixel for saved picture files. This was not possible. I worked with thieir tech support, who was responsive and helpful. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This is very clear and fun to use, I don't think the temp reading is accurate though, if I point the center temp at the same spot as the high or low temp spot it reads a different temperature it might be fixable using the emissivity settings. It takes a while to boot up and the screen is really hard to see if you take it outside on a sunny day. But overall I love it. ... show more

Resolution is really good. Has the ability to overlay optical image with thermal image in 25% increments. This is really handy. Menu is easy to use. I'm using it for improving the insulation in my house and I've been able to spot some areas that I didn't know were a problem. Since studs transfer heat/cold differently than sheetrock you can see where the studs contact the walls and where insulation may not be installed correctly. It's also handy to be able to save images. I plan to take before and after images once I've fixed an insulation problem. Still learning how to best use it. ... show more

The size and weight of this device is just right. The images are great and you can take pictures of the items you point at. The resolution of the screen is the best and is better that that of the IR0005. I have no complaints and have found this fun to use.

Liked the camera for the price point. Was surprised it performed as well as it did, my first IR camera though. The battery lasts plenty of time to image my entire house from the inside and outside. Roughly 4000sqft. Image quality is what was expected if you read the resolution of the IR sensor. It is subpar image quality if you have Hollywood expectations. I think the images were plenty clear for my purposes. I used the IR to check the thermal envelope of my house, garage and barns. Very satisfied, would recommend and buy again. ... show more
