  • GREAT door for a small dog!
Size: Medium - 7-Inch by 11-Inch Opening
We have a larger dog door for our larger fur babies but our little 10lb dog needed something smaller. We purchased this and installed it in our second back door and he uses it all of the time. Perfect for him!

I've had this pet door for 3 years installed in my home and it has been great! It still looks brand new with a little cleaning. Me and my wife love it. Great quality!!!!

  • no paper template
Size: Medium - 7-Inch by 11-Inch Opening
The media could not be loaded. Overall I'm happy with my switch to this door. I previously had a very similar one by same company but had the hard plastic door, but my cat's tails did not like that one. I had already had a cutout size of 8 3/8"W x 13 5/8"H, so I was nervous that it would be too big for the width and too small for the height, but luckily I just needed to shift it around a bit before tightening to cover any part of my existing cutout peeking through. The other tricky thing is that it took me actually thoroughly reading through the instructions, to understand why there is No Paper Template like most ones out there. smh It is stated in the instructions that the plastic slide/template will help you outline the pet door opening. The dimensions if you trace around it are 8"W x 13 3/4"H. It would be so much easier to include a paper template or provide a link online to print one out ourselves. I'm happy with my purchase and it only took my cats a few tries to get used to the new noises this door made from the old one (more magnet grab snap vs squeaky swinging before grab). ... show more

  • The best thing that ever happened to my cat after I adopted him
Size: Medium - 7-Inch by 11-Inch Opening
My cat absolutely LOVES this door. And so do I, because I no longer have to get up to open the back door to let him out in the yard when he cries to be let out and leave the kitchen door ajar until he decides he wants to come back in. When I originally bought this door six months ago, it was listed only as a medium size cat door, and some people had expressed worries that their large cats won't fit through the Medium Size cat door: they thought they should go for the "Perfect Pet Tubby Kat Cat Door with 4 Way Lock And LEXAN Flap" or the "Cat Mate Large Cat Door," both of which had hard flap doors which have the disadvantage of coming down hard on a cat when s/he uses the door. Those of you who have large cats, maybe with the possible exception of Maine Coon cats, probably shouldn't worry about the Medium size door being too small for your cat: my cat is REALLY big: he is 13" high at he shoulders and weights 23 lbs [a bit chubby but not fat], and he doesn't have any problems getting through the door, and he does so with room to spare. My cat is REALLY smart, but I did tape the flap above the door during the day for two days after it was installed to let my cat get used to going in an out of that "hole" in the door: the first time I shoved him through the hole, and he immediately got the idea. Then, after the first two days, I let the flap fall into place and shoved him out through the flap. No problem: he just knew what that "hole-with-a-flap" was for. If YOUR cat doesn't get the idea immediately, giving the cat a treat would probably help in getting him to use the door: to go outside, and, with the flap taped up on the inside, call your cat and give him a treat when the cat goes outside. The door is REALLY a bonus. Raccoons come into my backyard at night, and they didn't need any training in learning how to use the cat door, and came in to eat the cat food which is right beside the back door. So I can use the door at night to keep the cat in and the raccoons out. My cat quickly realized that the door panel on the cat door prevented him from going out. But I would suggest that you never lock your cat out by inserting the door panel while s/he is outside: it could confuse your cat if the door panel is inserted while s/he is outside because the cat can't SEE the panel as s/he tries to get back in, and the cat could easily just stop using the door to get back in if s/he is unsuccessful in getting back in a couple of times. Installation is easy, but you WILL need a jigsaw to cut out the hole and a drill to punch out four holes at the four corners of hole you will cut out of the door. If you don't have a jigsaw or drill, your can probably rent them. And if you have no idea how to use either or both of these tools, you'll have to hire a local handyman or get a friend to cut out the hole in the door so you can install the door. But hiring someone shouldn't be expensive: cutting out the hole took about 15 minutes, and you don't need a handyman to actually install the door: installation is a breeze. ... show more

  • Works Great
Size: Medium - 7-Inch by 11-Inch Opening
This works great. My cats use it with ease. The flap doesn't get caught on the cats tail or anything. One of my cats has long hair and has no issues going through it. Easy to install. Highly recommend.

  • Kitties love it and use it daily, even the dumb one.
Size: Medium - 7-Inch by 11-Inch Opening
I have 3 cats of varying sizes and intelligence levels. We have a maine coone, a tabby that is a pure space cadet, and a small kitten. We recently purchased a home and we don't have an ideal spot to place their litter indoors, so we moved it to the garage. We needed a way for them to get in and out, and this is what I found to be the most effective for our needs. To install in our aluminum door, you use part of the frame to mark the cut. I used a jigsaw with a metal blade, and it worked great. The hole was the slightest bit small, so I filed it with a metal file until this unit slid in snug. Snapped both sides together and installed the included screws. The flap is durable yet flexible plastic. Many of these with hard door flaps can trap the cats tail and cause injury or to even avoid the flap. This one doesn't have that problem. All of our cats are well-endowed in the tail area, and their tails slide right through. The flap has a magnet at the bottom that keeps the flap sealed to keep in (or out) smells and bugs. It works great and our cats love it. We were worried that our dumb cat couldn't figure it out. She still uses her paw to push it open instead of her head like the other kitties. She's special, but we love her. Highly recommend this. ... show more

  • Perfect for cellar door
Size: Medium - 7-Inch by 11-Inch Opening
I had this installed on inside door and it works well. Cats use it. Does make a fairly loud noise with the magnets as they go in or out. At least I know where they are though.
