Description

DGD Series Cartridges are manufactured from 100% pure polypropylene and are sized for use in Pentair Pentek Big Blue Filter Housings. DGD Series Cartridges are designed for purity and will not impart taste, odor or color to the liquid being filtered. Additionally, the polypropylene construction provides superior chemical resistance. The DGD Series' advanced design combines selective final filtration with appropriate pre-filtration to achieve up to three times the dirt holding capacity of similar size sediment cartridges and even greater capacity than standard spun or string-wound cartridges. The larger diameter of the filter reduces the particle load, allowing it to operate at higher velocities. The effective filter depth is increased to a full 233%. This increased depth provides very high particulate reduction efficiencies and added loading capacity. The design and performance characteristics of the DGD Series Cartridges make them an excellent choice for all residential, rural, municipal and commercial applications.

I had a recent problem with fine clay suspended in my well water, resulting in a faint cloudiness that wouldn't settle. Pentair's 5 micron string wound filter would not take it out. This 25/1 micron filter got the water clear. VERY happy.

I have a 500 foot deep well and there’s a lot of sediment that comes up through it but being that I live on a small mountain, that’s all ledge..,500 feet down is pure springwater and this filter helps to eliminate anything that might cause an off taste or an odor… and more importantly, sediment and I get water that is better than any water you could possibly buy in a store the only thing about this filter is it doesn’t quite last as long as they say it should, now that could be due to the amount of sediment in my well? But even when I’ve left the filter unchanged for 8-10 months…my water pressure doesn’t get reduced.. I don’t really need a charcoal type filter because the water I’m getting is from the earth and it’s pure so there’s no fluoride or anything like that that they tend to put in Massachusetts water sources I will keep purchasing this product because it keeps my shower heads from clogging keeps my dishwasher from clogging… it just overall gives me the best tasting water I’ve ever had…You can’t go wrong with Pentek filters!! ... show more

I've been using these Pentex filters for several years with no problems. They filter out just anything down to 50-microns. The price of these things have gone up astronomically if purchased singly ($17 - $23 each) so buying in bulk (8 filters) is a really big savings at just over $10 per filter.

Not much to say. They fit my 10" big blue filter housing (one would hope since it's all made by Pentek). It's a 2 stage filter and it filters stuff out of my well water that I'd rather not drink and/or get into my fixtures/appliances. I specifically went with the 25/1 micron because we have some iron bacteria and most of the bacteria should get filtered out at 1 micron. I usually change these out at 6 months but honestly it's probably way too early. I have pressure gauges before/after my filters and I've never noticed a pressure drop. ... show more
