I bought this unit to replace a failed Hayward Aquanaut 200 head. The hoses I had from me Aquanaut were fine to keep using. Initially I had tried to order a cuuple of parts for what I thought were the broken items in my Aquanaut, but after replacing 2 parts and it still not working I just decided to order this new cleaning head. It arrived quickly. I plugged it right into my existing hoses and it was up and running within one minute. In the future I will just buy these replacement heads as they are affordable and quick and easy to install. It appears to be of really good quality from the tires to the overall unit itself.     • I am a believer.
This was an upgrade to the one I got with my pool. It took me a bit to dial it in and I recommend getting the (not included) leader for it - like a short vacuum tube that keeps him happy. This fellow does not climb the walls in my pool due to the sharp angle at the bottom but he is strong. He seems to get stuck a lot and at the end of the day to pool is clean so I am over it. I do not need to see him driving around in order to know it is clean. He works fast! ... show more

I bought this to replace my worn out head. Supposedly all I had to do was unplug the old head from my existing hose and plug this in. It seemed to work okay at first but then it started behaving like all the 1 star reviews - get stuck at a wall because the orientation of the vacuum was not right. It would stay there till I moved it. My original vacuum had a leader hose with a float about 8" from the end. It developed a small crack near the head. I pulled the hose off, removed the float, and installed it on a regular hose section 20" from the head. Problem solved. Then I did some testing to determine the optimum flow. At 30 gpm it can climb a 5' wall to the pool surface. Still works at 20 gpm but 22-25 gpm is the sweet spot. ... show more

    • Rebel Good For 4-5 Years Use
I just purchased the Rebel here on 4/20/25 for $200.00. This replaced the same one that came with my new pool in 2021. Note this Rebel head only part comes without a manual. Boo. Here is the history of my last one. Mine is used 4 hours a day every day of the year. Your mileage may vary 1. Year one, worked perfect. 2. Year 2/3, left and right drive parts and wheels needed replacement when it runs in circles, slowly etc. When replaced it runs perfect again. Purchased Pentair #360517 Wheel & Drive Kit for $125.00 3. Year 4, Rebel running oddly. See, Pentair sells 60% of the parts available for the Rebel. The other 40% (gears, turbine cam etc.) are either not sold or not available anywhere or sold out. Perhaps by design by Pentair? So the true cost for a running my Rebel for 4-5 years is $200.00 for a new Rebel plus another $125.00 for the Wheel/Drive kit. After year 4 or 5, time to buy a new one. ... show more

    • Nothing But Problems After 3 Months
I purchased the Pentair 360486 Rebel Suction-Side Inground Pool Cleaner Head on December 26, 2024, and it has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing purchases I’ve made. For the first three months, it worked as expected but after that, it quickly went downhill. Since then, I’ve had to fix or adjust it nearly every other week just to keep it functioning. That level of constant maintenance is completely unacceptable for a product in this price range. The most persistent issue is that it constantly rolls onto its side and gets stuck. I even installed the recommended floater to correct this problem, and it made no difference. At that point, it’s clearly not user error it’s a design flaw or a quality issue. Today was the final breaking point: one of the wheels literally came apart during normal use. No misuse, no extreme conditions just failed on its own. This product is unreliable, poorly made, and not worth the money. I gave it more than enough chances, and it continues to fail. Pentair: this is not the level of quality customers expect for what you charge. I would appreciate a response from the manufacturer or seller regarding a replacement or refund, because this product has not performed as advertised. ... show more
