An inexpensive digital clock that is relatively small which I wanted because of space considerations on a nightstand. The blue illumination is fine--always had red before but have gotten used to with with no problems. I particularly like the ability to have several different light levels which are very easy to set--I usually use the lowest at night and increase the level if I want in the daylight hours. Bought this clock just to see time in the bedroom. I really like that it has brightness settings. Originally it was too bright for middle of the night. Took it down two settings and it is perfect. I like the size, easy to read from across the room, yet not too large as it doesn't take up much space. Battery backup is a nice feature (have not needed it yet). After searching for a compact LED clock that wouldn’t light up the whole bedroom, I finally landed on one that checks all the boxes. It’s small—just 5.3" wide and 2.1" high—so it fits easily on a nightstand, shelf, or pretty much anywhere near an outlet. Bonus: it runs on AAA batteries too, which makes it a solid travel companion. The LED display is surprisingly readable even from a distance. Mine sits about 15 feet from the bed, and I can still see the time clearly. What I really appreciate is the adjustable brightness. I keep it on the lowest setting at night, and it’s just right—not glaring, not too dim. That said, at the lowest level, it’s hard to read during the day, but I don’t mind since I’m not checking it much in daylight hours. One small gripe: all the buttons are on the back. They work fine, but having them on top would’ve been more convenient. On the plus side, the alarm is loud enough to actually wake you up—which isn’t always a given with clocks this size. got this yesterday, hooked it up and we LOVE it. not using as an alarm clock, although I see how great it could be, small portable, uses batteries or can be plugged in. So far keeping exact time. I hear the alarm really will wake you up, so this is great to have if we are watching TV (it lives by the big screen which has no digital clock???) and want to remember to do something...we CAN set an alarm. The blue light has several dimmer settings... and it doesn't distract at all... treat yourself to a cool clock. ... show more

Love this clock, I just ordered my third one. I too cut the cable and missed the illuminated time shown on the old cable boxes. The clock is small enough to put under or to the side of the TV and the numbers are large enough (and illuminated) to see from across the room. Definitely worth it!
