Got this for my son's room so he could see the time during the night. We love it!! It's simple, yet the creator thought of all the useful functions. You can choose between a few brightness levels and it goes to a super dim level when no noise is detected in the room. You can still read the super dim level all. Right long, but during the day you can simply make a noise to have it show up brighter (to your preferred brightness setting) if it is sitting on the dim. All those options can be turned off of you don't like them, but we love them and it is supposed to prolong the battery life. Win win! We also love that it is battery powered so you can put it anywhere without having to worry about plugging it in. Great little alarm clock that is easy to read! We needed a battery powered clock with numbers that are easy to read from across the room, and this one is perfect. It’s a great size for the space, easy to set, the green numerals are large and bright, and its design is attractive and unobtrusive. In addition, it uses type A batteries, a type that’s necessary for so many different items around our house that it's commonplace for us to keep an ample supply on hand. The one aspect of the clock that I really haven’t decided on yet is the automatic dimming feature. If there’s no noise in the room for 30 seconds, the numerals dim considerably and become almost invisible, even at close range. The clock is very prompt in lighting up again if noise is registered. On the one hand, it’s a great way to save battery power, and it’d be an excellent feature for a bedroom. On the other hand, the drawback is that in a room that’s used throughout the day, it’s kind of annoying to not be able to see the time. Of course, that can be changed right away by making a noise, and the entire dimming feature can be disabled by the push of a button. I didn’t delete a star based on this minor complaint because the dimming feature is optional and because my annoyance at not seeing the time immediately is my problem, not the clock’s. ... show more

This is a great, easy to read and easy to set alarm clock. It's a bit larger than I expected, but that just adds to its readability. I think it won’t last long because it is cheaply made, but it has huge numbers you can read from across the room. Digital, takes AA batteries. Lightweight. Sleek, modern. I chose the green numbers on black. Also comes in light wood tone with black numbers. Inexpensive.
