I recently returned two burners made by another company for not working. I received this burner yesterday, my initial impression was WOW this heats up fast, I had to go down immediately to a lower level, Level ten made my pan smoke. I will see how it lasts. Amazon is by far the best place to shop, I bought the other items from Ali and it is not even close!

It's a 1525 watt burner( not 1800w) pretty consistent on high and base is not even level and tilts on its own weight. With weight it is ok ....I do realize this is not UL rated and other usual rating labels are not present. However it works well although the sensitivity of touch top vs a dial or knob etc is a bit annoying. I did read a review of concern about powering on while off. I had similar incident where hyper sensitive touch sensor altered power setting. So plugging in and out for safety can be simplified, I buy a lighted single outlet switch you can plug into outlet and appliance into switch. I am still testing this unit out and I'm ok with performance so far, and the price is right.

Great table top cooker! All types of cookware work on this infrared unit, unlike induction cook tops. Heats up immediately and the 10 heating levels are useful for the varied cooking temps needed in different recipes. Have used it on the screened porch to pan cook steaks, rather than smoking up the kitchen, or having to get the grill prepared. Really a very useful gadget :-)

Two things to know about this. One, is temperature is COMPLETELY un-regulatable!! The lowest setting is still TOO hot and boils stuff!!!! Second, the top control for increase/decrease temperature, just randomly changes when you bump it with a pot, lid, etc!! Had to return this and got a regular old coil burner, works great!
