Initial review is further down if interested. Had to bring up the rating just for customer service. Responsive, accidentally sent wrong parts through warranty but it was quickly corrected by seller and warranty. After more research on the install, I see my install error by not completely inserting the middle bracket. All panels successfully click into place. Still a little bummed there isn't a click at each panel( only missing second panel click, from tailgate), but it still looks good on the truck. After receiving the cover with a broken corner piece, the manufacturer was quick to send a replacement through the warranty. I was on the fence about returning due to the latches underneath, but the customer is responsible for the shipping costs, so be sure to do your research. I thought I had a Bakflip on my older truck but it was a Gator Bed cover. The Gator bed covers have latches at each section. On the bakflip there are only latches on the first and last sections. I found that these latches are adjustable in the instructions but still... there is no satisfying snap on each roll down of the cover. It also means there is a security vulnerability with the second section as you could just pry it up with a screwdriver. The tension screws underneath also don't pull the cover down as snug as the gator bed cover. Water will get in if left out in the rain or snow, unless you use some sort of filler. Overall, I wish I got the gator cover but thankful for the customer service so I 'll give it 3 stars. ... show more

This is the second BakFlip MX4 Hard Folding Truck Bed Tonneau Cover I've owned. I recently sold my old truck with the cover. Before that, I had a BakFlip G2. I love these covers because they are so versatile. I received the cover a day earlier than expected and It took about 45 minutes to install but I took my time. I can fold it up completely for full use of my truck bed, or I can fold up three sections and leave the fourth section down and snapped in, which is what I do when towing my Fifth Wheel. I like the extra security a hard tonneau cover provides because it can't be cut with a utility knife and the cover can't be opened easily when the tailgate is locked. There are two things that I wish were better. Some water will get in when there's a heavy rainstorm or you go to a high pressure car wash but that's true of all covers I believe. Second, after 12-18 months, the paint wears off in spots where the cover panels rub when folded up. This doesn't affect how the cover works and is only aesthetic. I would also like to note that having a tonneau cover on your truck will increase your fuel mileage. I have a 2020 Silverado 2500HD with a Duramax Diesel. I checked my fuel mileage before the cover was installed on a 50 mile trip and got 21.5MPG having cruise control set to 65MPH. Then I took the same trip after the cover was installed and got 23.9MPG. In both instances, the wind and road conditions were the same so I'm pretty happy about that. Of course this would be true of any bed cover but I wanted to make mention for those that were on the fence about whether to install a cover of any kind. You will save fuel. Great fit, easy to install, and easily clears the grab bar handle in a 2023 GMC 2500HD and an AMP Research bed extender. I called to order it and they wouldnt sell it to me because of the bed extender, insisted it was to high. Called back next day and didnt mention the extender. Sent with no problem and fits great and easily clears the bed extender. I'm very happy with it. ... show more

I am really happy with this cover. I installed a few weeks ago just before a trip. It has seen snow, rain and ice and worked great. Others mention some leakage but so far I have not had that. Took me an hour or two to install. Watch a video first. I also like the security of the cover and the way it folds. You can open partially or all the way. I agree the clips that hold the rods you use to keep the cover fully open are plastic and could break. Also, the weather strip that goes on the bed near the cab does not stick real well. I think these are minor issues and I would buy again. I used this cover on a new 2022 GMC 2500 AT4 with a standard bed and multi-pro tailgate. Fits perfect and no drilling required. ... show more

Would have loved this bed cover. The finish is awesome and it lays very flat unlike others I have had in the past. The install was fairly simple other than you don't get paper instructions anymore and have to watch a video on YouTube for install. For the money they really should finish installing the clips for tie-downs. And the crappy foam blocks they give you to lean the cover against the cab suck! Mine also came missing parts and will not fully secure and is easily broken into. This is my 8th bed cover I have purchased and installed and they have more than doubled in price and cut quality in half. BAK customer service is even worse!! Rude inconsiderate and insanely hard to get in touch with. Update - I can break into these tonneau covers in under 10 seconds with no tools and no noise. Extra $50 of parts and this is a 10 star cover. Don't keep any expensive tools underneath!!!!! ... show more

Where to start.... I loved the look and feel of this cover. The materials used seemed like good quality, and I loved the look when it was installed. However, I did return this item, due to it not working as it should. I had nothing but problems, after opening the box. There were no instructions. There was a link to the instructions, on a piece of paper. But the instructions were wrong, and not even close to what I had. And the parts i had, did not match the parts shown. I found a video on the same site, for a similar product. Mine is a Chevy, 8ft bed. Instructions were for a chevy, 6ft bed. I thought it would be close enough, but it wasn't. I spent a day trying to get the rails installed, so it would snap shut (like it should). The passenger side worked fine, the driver side never would close correctly. I searched many sites on tips and tricks to install it correctly. Nothing worked. I finally called the tech support number (this took 3 calls, because their phone system kept sending me to the wrong group). After getting someone on the phone, he asked me a few questions, then told me it sounds like a rail is bent and he would send a new rail. It would take 5 days. After 2 weeks, I got a package of the rubber spacers in the mail. I tried the new spacers, but it didn't help (I didnt think it would...but, I tried). In the meantime, I could get the cover to close, and lock, if I twisted the rail up, and slammed the cover (which is not going to work for me, and its not correct). But I also noticed the cover did not do very well keeping out the rain. A couple of rains, and the bed of the truck was soaked. I even drove to a company in town, that installs these same covers. The word I got, they have the exact same issues with this brand. So if I wanted to pay them, they can try to fix it. But, most likely, I have already installed it correctly. At this point, I decide to send it back. This is way too much money to spend, on something that is not going to work properly. And, I would not be happy with the constant battles. So, I would NOT recommend this cover! ... show more
