Description

The BAKFlip MX4 was the first matte-finished, hard folding cover to market, becoming America’s 1 Selling Hard Folding Cover in just a few years. Simply put, the MX4 just looks better than other covers. Its sleek no-profile appearance allows you to maintain the appearance of your truck, while enabling you to securely stow cargo in the bed. The MX4’s pioneering, textured matte- finish adds a premium look and feel while also protecting against UV damage, annoying finger print marks, and scratches. MX4 has everything you expect from a premium cover. The engineers at BAK Industries fine-tuned even the smallest elements of the cover, down to adding cab corner caps and rail-end cap, to extending a matte-finish throughout the cover’s side rails, clamps, and elevator bolts. The MX4’s integrated buckle system and automatic latching mechanism allows you to drive with the cover partially or fully opened without covering the 3rd brake light. For 100% bed access, simply unlock the cover from either side via its pull latches and fold the cover all the way up against the cab. From there, you can prop the cover in place by tightening two rods into the underside of the panel. For enhanced durability, the MX4 also features pre-molded, shock-absorbent bumpers on either side of the panel, protecting the folded panels from hitting the cover during turbulent driving. Rain or shine, the MX4 provides confident cargo storage that’s complete with dual drain tubes to divert water away from the truck bed, as well as full perimeter seals to help protect against water intrusion. Initial review is further down if interested. Had to bring up the rating just for customer service. Responsive, accidentally sent wrong parts through warranty but it was quickly corrected by seller and warranty. After more research on the install, I see my install error by not completely inserting the middle bracket. All panels successfully click into place. Still a little bummed there isn't a click at each panel( only missing second panel click, from tailgate), but it still looks good on the truck. After receiving the cover with a broken corner piece, the manufacturer was quick to send a replacement through the warranty. I was on the fence about returning due to the latches underneath, but the customer is responsible for the shipping costs, so be sure to do your research. I thought I had a Bakflip on my older truck but it was a Gator Bed cover. The Gator bed covers have latches at each section. On the bakflip there are only latches on the first and last sections. I found that these latches are adjustable in the instructions but still... there is no satisfying snap on each roll down of the cover. It also means there is a security vulnerability with the second section as you could just pry it up with a screwdriver. The tension screws underneath also don't pull the cover down as snug as the gator bed cover. Water will get in if left out in the rain or snow, unless you use some sort of filler. Overall, I wish I got the gator cover but thankful for the customer service so I 'll give it 3 stars. ... show more

Excellent cover solution for Silverado 2500. Easy install and very durable. Good fit to the bed, secures items from theft, and opens up enough to haul big items. The rubber seals provided did not seal perfectly but some McGuiver work with additional material sealed it well.

The media could not be loaded. Would have loved this bed cover. The finish is awesome and it lays very flat unlike others I have had in the past. The install was fairly simple other than you don't get paper instructions anymore and have to watch a video on YouTube for install. For the money they really should finish installing the clips for tie-downs. And the crappy foam blocks they give you to lean the cover against the cab suck! Mine also came missing parts and will not fully secure and is easily broken into. This is my 8th bed cover I have purchased and installed and they have more than doubled in price and cut quality in half. BAK customer service is even worse!! Rude inconsiderate and insanely hard to get in touch with. Update - I can break into these tonneau covers in under 10 seconds with no tools and no noise. Extra $50 of parts and this is a 10 star cover. Don't keep any expensive tools underneath!!!!! ... show more

I bought this for me 2024 GMC Sierra HD. The install is straightforward, but because of the design of my truck bed, I could it get the brackets for the rail as close to the tailgate as the instructions specified. Because of this, the rail has too much play at the end and the slam latches don’t work. When I close the last panel, I have to manually squeeze each side to engage the latch. Also, I don’t know if it’s related to the above, but it is not very water tight and a good amount of water leaks in from the sides. Overall I like it, though. I like that I can lift it up to allow full access to the bed (my previous tonneau covers didn’t allow that without removing the whole thing), and I like that it is solid and sturdy. ... show more

After researching folding tonneau covers and getting to use a truck that had one, there are a few things that make one user friendly. The solid ones are more secure, folding to use full bed length is a must and one latch to open from either side makes it easy. The ones with double latches work but if you’re towing something you have to walk around the truck to catch the 2nd latch to open or close it. This one does it all.
