I purchased this on a whim because I found a chicken. I would say it’s good to house in there 2 to 3 chickens only. During the winter, I did wrap it in plastic to keep some heat in, but in the summer, it was fantastic

    • Simple coop solution
Very easy to put together. One piece was cracked but it didn’t affect it overall. Good strong wood smell. Everything fit together and I was able to put it together within an hour with my 4 & 6 year old supervising. I have a similarly sized one for 2 chickens and this will be for my 2 newly outside ready pullets to get acclimated to the flock and then use as night housing. I have been planting different mint and lavender around the coop area to help make the area smell nice so I thought I’d give the flower bed on top a try using a couple herb planters so the wood doesn’t rot. Overall a good value and simple solution for housing a couple chickens. ... show more

    • Decent for the money but still flimsy
I bought this coop for six baby chickens. The coop is very flimsy the wood is very thin. Instructions are vague, but it's easy to figure out. Don't expect this to really be anything more than something extremely short lived.

We have a small flock of hens w/2 roosters and wanted to add a few more younger pullets to the group. I bought this coop to put the young hens in until they are ready to be added to the flock. The size is perfect for them, but I would not put more than one or two full grown chickens in it. However, it’s plenty of room for what I need it for. I only gave four stars for several reasons. First, the wood is fir and very light weight. (Why don’t coop makers use a heavier more sturdy wood?) It took me and my 11-year-old daughter about an hour and a half to put together. It would’ve taken a lot less time with an electric screwdriver. The instructions are OK, but just pictures. Not written out. Each piece is stamped with a number and the hardware is also labeled in baggies. Some holes for the screws are pre-drilled and others are not. The real issue was the fact that several non-essential pieces were too short. The divider for the nest box and one of the roost pieces are each about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch too short. I am attaching pictures. I’m going to try to extend both somehow with another piece of wood, especially the nest box divider. We’ll see. The last issue I see is the planter box. It’s made of the same very lightweight wood as the rest of the coop. If you fill it with real plants, I’m not sure how long it will hold up with water/wet soil. We won’t be doing that. All in all, for what I need it for, it will be perfect. It will be inside a large 10’ x 20‘ enclosure until the young hens are ready to come out into the enclosure and wander out to free range. ... show more

    • Cheap materials, not fully aligned, misguided directions
Size is great, cute idea. Super cheap materials. I should have honestly ignored the directions and just assembled it in an order that would have made more sense; also frustrating that things didn’t line up as nicely as I would have hoped. Drawer pan doesn’t push in all the way because it’s crooked; cage door crooked when drilled into pre drilled holes. It’s fine and usable for indoor use only, but if I could go back, I would have purchased a higher quality hutch. ... show more

    • I liked the extra depth compared to other hutches.
Easy to put together. Helps with 2 people. Not heavy duty but good for a few rabbits. Didn't have a use for the flower box so I turned it into an opening lid. But the main reason I purchased it was for the extra depth. Most are only 18 to 24 inches. 30+ with this one.
