    • Very good heat output but not the quickest to assemble
I got this for my deck to use in the winter. From the get go, I did notice that on the base, there are some scratches but this was more of a cosmetic concern. Assembling this was a bit finicky because the instructions were mainly using pictures that can take a little bit to decipher. However, once I figured that out, the assembling part was not too bad except for the top/head of the heater. Once everything was connected and I turned on the heater, I could immediately feel the heat coming out. I did notice that while there are three light bulbs, only one would turn on. The other two would only turn on if I went through the controls (which was not in the instructions) so I had to figure that out on my own. But, overall, I could feel the heat coming from the heater even from 20 feet away so it will definitely keep me warm as I laze in my hammock on my deck during the winter months! ... show more

    • Works really well!
We bought this to extend our evenings on our front porch enjoying libations with our neighbors. It works well and will allow us to continue to socialize when temperatures drop into the low 60s. Assembly was intuitive but the instructions were also relatively clear for a Chinese product. It should have taken about 20 minutes but it actually took me about an hour because of do-over work. For example, I had completely assembled the post when I discovered the three wire clamps that needed to be slipped over the two upper posts. They would not fit over the screws holding the post together so the post had to be disassembled, clamps added then the post reassembled. There were other similar issues.. Other than that, assembly was simple and straight forward. The safety features are overkill... likely created by the nanny state's need to overprotect and over regulate the proletariat. It's sorta like government-mandated spill-proof gas containers that cause more spills than they prevent. The heat output is excellent and we were able to maintain a 70-degree temperature on the low setting while the outside air dropped to 65. The only question remaining is, "how long will it last?". We shall see. If it lasts less than two winters, I'll update this review. ... show more
