This chair is a bit of a chore to put together. It is heavy when in pieces and heavy when assembled. Gladly, when it is assembled, it rolls easily. This transfer chair from mindmed is a fantastic value compared to other similar chairs I have found online with this function. I has been a fantastic aid for moving someone sitting in an open area. It has limitations. Sitting in a recliner, it’s not useful. But for moving someone in and out of a shower chair, on and off of a sofa and several other scenarios, it is the best option I have found. The quality is very good and the support for the person being transported makes them feel secure. It gives me confidence that I can move them alone. It has always been a concern when moving someone that could sit but not walk, that I would be overwhelmed by their size or I would do something wrong. This chair takes care of those concerns. The chair is suited for some homes and almost all facilities. Anywhere moving someone alone and in an open space ( where the two sides of the chair can be brought around them, is possible ). I recommend this transfer chair. I feel like with good care it will last for years. I hope my thoughts and details help someone.

This transfer chair really came through when my dad needed help getting around after his surgery last month. Build quality feels incredibly sturdy and that 440-pound capacity ain't no joke. Heavy-duty frame holds up great during transfers and those reinforced crossbars give you peace of mind when moving someone you care about. Hydraulic system works smoothly without any jerking motions which matters alot when dealing with someone who's already uncomfortable. Functionality wise this thing basically does everything you need it for. That 180-degree split seat makes transferring from bed super straightforward compared with our old method of basically dragging him. Pedal adjusts height quick and seats surprisingly comfortable for long periods. Wheels roll quietly and lock down solid when you need stability. Removable potty feature seems kinda weird at first but turns out being incredibly practical during nighttime. Value definitely checks out considering what you're getting here. Yeah its pricey upfront but compares favorably against hiring additional help or dealing with injury from improper lifting. Design looks clinical but who cares when it works this well. Only gripe would be that it takes up decent amount of space and you gotta make sure your doorways meet minimum width. Overall this purchase has made caregiving way less physically demanding and given my dad some dignity back during a rough time.

I ended up with spare parts not listed in the instructions. Chair is not performing properly. Instructions list parts not included (Bolt D???) but do not show what to do with some of the extra parts that obviously are needed somewhere. Could not find telephone number for customer support.

This is the kind of thing you don't know to ask for when you have a family member with a disability. This patient lift chair helped transfer my aging uncle from bed to sofa during his visit last weekend, the hydraulic pump making it smooth without straining my back. This transfer chair has been super for us. My father's mobility has decreased significantly, and getting him from his bed to the bathroom or even just to a chair was becoming incredibly difficult. The 180° split seat is brilliant. It really does make transfers much smoother and safer, reducing the strain on both him and me. The build quality feels very solid. It's clearly made with durable materials, and the 440lb weight capacity gives me peace of mind. The casters roll smoothly, and the locking brakes are essential for stability during transfers.
