This works like promised. Fortunately, we have not had an emergency at our house, but it has been tested and easily handled a bit over 250 pounds. The seat is wide enough. The lift moves slowly, but that is what you want when moving someone with balance issues who just had a bad fall and is going to be upset. Some assembly required, but it was not difficult. The battery holds a charge for a long time while it is sitting and waiting. Using it to lift weight probably uses a lot more of the battery, but if you are using it, you would know to watch the battery life indicator. The big plus for this unit is the security that now you can get your person back up off the floor when you need to. It is such a relief to have that worry lessoned a bit. ... show more

Lift is well made and heavy duty. Some package damage that allowed the rear wheel flanges to break through the double boxes, but didn't damage the unit. One of the leg brackets was bent in to the point the leg wouldn't lock in position, but was easily adjusted ( factory damage, not freight damage).

I just received this and it very well constructed and very easy to assemble. It is heavy to lift but rolls easily on casters. For home use lifting it should not be necessary. It would serve well in a hospital or nursing home setting

    • Chair wheels even when locked the chair rolls.

My husband was having issues with his balance and purchased this chair to have it in case he fell. I had to use it last night and I have to tell you that is worthless. When you are trying to move someone that is 6 feet and 175 pounds the chair does not lock properly. As soon as you put some pressure on it, it rolls. I do not recommend it, I would send it back if I could but my return period has passed. ... show more

Wonderful for lifting one off the floor after a fall. Very sturdy and substantial... Priced raisonnably compared to others. No longer needing to call for help to get you up. One scoots ton the floor to reach it, sit on it at floor level, and use the remote to go up to regular chair level. I haven't had to use it yet so I can not address the ease, efficiency or comfort of this or it it will work for everyone. I'm not even sure my hubby will be able to use it as it requires the person on the floor to be able to put themselves into a sitting position & move laterally into the seat. We shall see the next time he falls. It DOES NOT lay flat for those unable to position themselves to get onto it, so that's something to be aware of before ordering. I WAS disappointed that it does not "just fold up" for easy storage & must be partly disassembled & even then does not stand on its own but falls over if you try to stand it up on its own. So fir us, it is sitting in our living room. It IS quite heavy which I imagine is due to its sturdy build. It does seem to be well built & the lift & lower worked as it should once fully assembled & tested tho i had nobodytosit on it to see how it does with that. It took me about a half hour to assemble & if you're a physically compromised caregiver or have arthritis in your hands you may want someone to assist you but overall pretty easy to put together even for this older arthritic lady. It arrived in a timely manner & was very well packed in a box I side a box. I will edit or add to this review once we've needed to use it & give my thoughts on that. ... show more
