Description

The kit includes a small key that fits into the air-guard opening of the manometer. Carefully rotate the key sideways according to what is needed. Please note that turning the key clockwise moves the arrow to the left, and vice versa. This key is for adjusting slight move of manometer needle. Adjustment range: 6mmHg from center of zero position. The manual blood pressure cuff is one of the high-precision instruments used for measuring blood pressure. The device is lightweight and comes with a special pouch that it snugly fits in, which makes carrying it around easier and more convenient. The cuff is completely latex free and is made of superior PVC and polyester. Most importantly, the manometer is made of zinc alloy. This blood pressure measuring kit includes all the necessary components: Manual Blood Pressure Cuff comes complete with a stethoscope. This makes the device fully-fledged and ready to measure pressure. You will not need to acquire an additional stethoscope. Manual Blood Pressure Cuff by Paramed has a comfortable cuff 42 cm long. This means that people of any stature can measure pressure without problems. The cuff is designed for daily use and multiple measurements. A D-ring cuff is a cuff in which the user passes through one end of the cuff through a metal ring and then attaches it to the arm. Cuff adjustment is easily done using this stainless steel ring. The manometer has a special fastening tool so that you can attach it in a place that's comfortable for you. It's convenient for the readout to be at eye level so that you can carefully monitor the pressure gauge. Put the cuff on your left arm 2-3 cm (~1 inch) above your elbow. Cuff's tubes should run along the center of your arm. Wrap the cuff around your arm so that you can fit one finger between the cuff and your arm, and attach it with Velcro. Put the stethoscope on. Make sure that the earpieces are facing forward. If you put them in backwards, you won’t be able to hear anything. Place the head on your humeral artery a bit above the elbow joint facing the body where the artery usually runs. You can secure the stethoscope using the cuff. Quickly fill the cuff with air until it reaches your typical upper pressure reading with an additional 30 mmHg. Then, stop pumping in air. Start letting air out of the cuff so that the manometer's arrow descends 2-3 marks per second. Note the pressure when you first hear your heartbeat. This is the upper, or systolic, pressure number. Note the pressure when the sound stops. This is the lower, or diastolic, pressure number. We recommend writing down your measurements, which will help you and your doctor analyze your health.

The EMT jump bag in the rescue truck stores a Littman scope and a super silky nice cuff. I did NOT expect that in a cheap set, and did not receive one. There are things I like about this but I'm afraid I'm just not going to keep it, for this low price. Springing for a little better kit - or separate scope - might be the way to go if you are using this frequently. EDIT: customer service contacted me so I added a star back. I was pretty hasty and critical in my assessment. For the price this works as an occasional use entry level BP set. I wish I had others to compare to! The cuff works and you can get by with this scope for quick BP. The scope head is super cheap plastic as other reviewers have picked up. The audio works for BP but not much more. The ear tips are hard plastic and only one size. Note you'll have to do some bending to make this comfortable for even a minute! Don't bend the tubes (of course) but try the springy piece of metal that connects the two. Also rotating the tubes so the ear buds face forward a bit (instead of facing each other straight to the side) makes a huge difference in the sound! The cuff seems decent and is reasonably comfortable. The d-ring design means you will be either taking it apart each time or sliding up the arm. I find it large enough to slide up the arm without difficulty, there's a block to keep it from falling back out of the ring, and the d-ring makes it much easier to use on myself. The cuff doesn't have artery markers like the video and instructions show and taking readings from different locations changes the results. The monometer has a decent multi-way clip on it but nowhere on the cuff to actually clip it so it just sort of dangles from the top. The dial is easy to read but i wish just a little larger. The valve makes it tricky to release air at a steady pace and actually see where it is when the pulse sounds resume. Side note, i see why people buy the automatic ones now. I asked a paramedic his opinion of this set and after he stopped laughing said he didn't even know when the last time he took a manual BP was. Faster and more accurate to use the machines. Great buy. Stethoscope is obviously entry level, but does the job. Somewhat small and you get what you pay for. Bought it so I can check my own Blood Pressure. I was always told that you can't check your own BP because you can't hear your own heart accurately. I don't know where I heard it from and turns out it's pretty common. Far more accurate than the electronic, battery operated types. I feel more confident that I'm receiving the correct information. ... show more

November 2016 - Two stars It is not that easy to use to self measure your blood preasure as pictured. I needed for this only purpose and doesn't work. It seems to be good quality but It didn't met my expectation. Update - April 2017 - Three stars The vendor contacted me to know why my bad review. I explained to them and they ofered a serie of videos explaining how to use the equipment. This was bought as a replacement of an old one so I am pretty sure it is not a user problem, I let them know that a couple of times. However, I saw all the videos and kept my review. Then they ofered sending a new equipment for free. I tested it and send my comments via email: "It works better than the previous one, althought I still do not beleive it is easy for self measure as it was with my older monitor. The valve is not easy-release, it goes too fast or too slow, several trials are needed. And the stethoscope is uncomfortable." I had no complains with the customer service when the first email arrived, it is natural expecting an explanation from an unhappy customer, I know that because I run a business myself. However, their persistance and tone on the emails crossed the line I considered permisible between honest customer service and just the need to obtain a change in the article review no matter what. I was not happy with the product, I returned it without a problem, really easy process I give them that. And that would be the only reason to update to three stars from the original two. I received a new one, I send my comments. No commitment on paying the second one, I satated that clearly. I am still not happy with the product. The fact that they respond and send emails (several) almost without reading what you write, says a lot. But I do read the emails. You needed me to update my review. This is my update. This product is almost totally useless! First I couldn’t hear my heartbeat-10 tries and I’ve been doing this for 20 years. I switched the stethoscope for my OLD ONE-heartbeat easy to hear. Then I took 5 readings-the readings were so high I’d likely have a heart attack. I switched the pressure gauge for my OLD ONE. Yes, my blood pressure was in it’s expected range. I’m using the cuff as my old unit tubes are all cracking, I’m using the rest of the stethoscope but is this worth the $29. price-and how many other people will be cheated by this product?? ... show more
