  • Impressive Clarity & Great for Everyday Use
Color: Matte Black
I’ve been using the Core 500 Digital Stethoscope for a little while now, and it has definitely exceeded my expectations. The sound quality is incredibly clear—far better than my traditional stethoscope. Being able to amplify heart and lung sounds makes assessments faster and more accurate, especially in noisy environments. The digital display is simple and intuitive, and the overall build feels solid and professional. I really appreciate the ability to replay sounds; it’s a game changer when double-checking findings or discussing cases with coworkers. Battery life has held up well, and it charges quickly. If you’re looking to upgrade or want a reliable stethoscope that gives you an edge with digital features, the Core 500 is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend for EMS, nursing, and medical professionals who want the best tools possible. ... show more

  • Works over the tinnitus ringing!!
Color: Silver
Truly appreciated this stethoscope when I figured out how to use it and how to manually turn it off. Battery lasts a long time. It is amazing with the tinnitus ringing in my ears constantly. It has been amazing to be able to hear murmurs and subtle sounds I couldn’t before due to the ringing. I realize everyone is different when it comes to tinnitus, but it’s been a game changer for me. Great quality and although expensive, I have been super happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • Best stethoscope on the market!
Color: Silver
Absolutely love this stethoscope. I cannot recommend it any higher! I’ve been in the medical field for 25+ years, and I’ve always had difficulty hearing with a stethoscope to discern the various lung sounds and heart murmurs. This stethoscope muffles out any environmental noise and allows me to hear with such precision, that I can hear the tiniest, faint crackle or wheeze. Every coworker that’s expressed interest in it, I’ve handed it to them told them to go use it on a patient, and they come back in awe. It is well worth the price, in buying it through Amazon you can do longer payment plans if it’s not in the budget as a solid payment. I highly recommend it. I rarely use the Eko app, but the ability to record the EKG tracing in real time is amazing. ... show more

  • Honest review
Color: Silver
This review is the Eko 500 Core. It's an exceptional tool for medical professionals, offering advanced functionality and superior sound quality. Here’s a breakdown: Pros: Outstanding Sound Quality: Lungs: Clear, detailed sounds, allowing pinpoint precision. Heart: Deep, rich audio with med-to-low bass for valve and contraction clarity. Wideband Mode: Balanced sound similar to traditional stethoscopes. Professional Enhancement: Allows users to hear intricate details, creating an immersive experience (e.g., "inside the lungs" or "inside the heart"). Ideal for professionals who want to refine their diagnostic capabilities. Build and Features: Durable and high-quality build that feels substantial. Intuitive screen for ease of use. Bluetooth functionality for connecting to earbuds, which is especially helpful in noisy environments like for flight medics. Capability to use without earpieces, enhancing versatility. Recording and Playback: Ability to record sounds for later review or teaching purposes. Playback allows for comparisons or consultations, adding value for diagnostic accuracy. Cons: Price: The higher price point might deter some buyers, though the review clearly shows it's justified. Overall Impression: The Eko 500 Core is not just a stethoscope but a professional-grade investment. Its cutting-edge technology, exceptional sound quality, and versatile features make it a standout choice for those serious about elevating their practice. Despite the cost, the value it provides in enhancing diagnostic precision and convenience appears well worth it. If you're in the healthcare field or looking for a gift for a dedicated professional, this seems like an extraordinary option. ... show more

  • Pretty amazing stuff Pretty amazing stuff
Color: Silver
This stethoscope is amazing. The sound quality and clarity on the cardiac and wide modes are phenomenal. I don't love the pulmonary mode though because it picks up too much extra noise caused by the stethoscope rubbing up against the skin as the patient is taking big deep breaths. I've also used the app which is pretty cool. Being able to record the exam, as well as have it play on speakerphone in real time to let the patient near too, is something else. The chestpiece has a button at the top that allows you to instantly record the exam, which is saved into the app. One thing I wish they could do is to allow multiple back to back recordings. Currently, after each recording, you have to go into the app and fill in all the details (e.g., position, location) and save before being able to make another recording. The chestpiece battery duration is impressive. I noticed that when not in use, it turns off automatically to save battery. It also disconnects from bluetooth on the phone when this happens. However, once I woke up the chest piece by pressing the top button, it reconnected to my phone's bluetooth with barely any delay. It also did not have to reboot every time the chest piece was woken up. It's these little time savers that make a big difference because having to take extra steps collectively becomes time consuming. I bought the case from Eko separately. It holds the stethoscope very well. it's pretty big though. But it's a good size to fit my stethoscope as well as my otoscope. I could probably fit my blood pressure cuff in there if I wanted to. Overall great product. Patients found it interesting as well. ... show more

  • Family Medicine Doc Review
Color: Silver
I have always been a fan of Eko. Got my first Litman Core in 2022 and will never go back to a standard stethoscope again. It' works amazingly. I recently upgraded to the Core 500. A little background, I work outpatient family medicine in a urban area. I see about 25-30 patiets per day in office, predominantly adults but also children and newborns. Pros: - sound quality is excellent. Exceptional filtering. I can hear more precisely than even with my other Eko products. It has helped me pick up on more early heart murmurs (allowing for early testing and early surveillance--including an asymptomatic severe aortic stenosis that was missed by his last provider). My parents really like hearing their kids heartbeat by bluetooth to my phone to allow for audio and I have used it in teaching as well so my student can listen as i'm listening. It's structurally stable. Lightweight--I barely notice the difference between it and my stethoscope. An ergonically works well. Cons - only one I can think of so far is that it's too large to use on a newborn. I have been very happy with my eko products and I appreciate the upgrade to the core 500. 2 other docturs in my office also have them. Most of the doctors here have upgraded to the digital stethoscopes. Most of them are Eko. We love it. ... show more

  • Add a tool to your toolbox
Color: Champagne
This is definitely an added tool that I didn't know I would be able to utilize in so many different ways. I work full-time fire and ems and this guy is top tier. Idk about the agencies you work for but we have issues with our electrodes drying out and not reading properly or those patients you get that are incredibly sweaty no matter how many times you wipe them off with a towel the electrodes just won't stick or stay on. This stethoscope has aided in both of those occurrences many times. Yes it is very pricey but I would purchase it again. The battery life is way better than I expected. Functionally all the buttons work perfectly haven't had any issues with sticking or getting gunked up. Durability is better than expected as well. Wish their were more color options. ... show more

  • Good amplification, unnecessary features, should come with a case
Color: Silver
I've been using this as a critical care paramedic for a bit now. Overall it's a pretty good tool. It really excels with lung sounds. The different modes don't really make a huge difference, but I guess they're cool. The 3-lead ECG is a neat little toy, but it's not really useful on the job as I'll just throw the patient on the monitor. It's mostly used for showing coworkers how neat it is. I expected this though. The A-fib detection is like any other doc-in-the-box AI interpretation. It's okay, but if you can't recognize A-fib without AI, you shouldn't be interpreting rhythms. The battery life is good. I keep it off until I need to use it. For me the biggest downside of this thing is that you pay $400 for a stethoscope (I used FSA funds) and it doesn't even come with a case. You have to buy the case separately for $40. Honestly, that's ridiculous. I keep mine in an old intubation bag I had, which isn't the best, but I'm not paying $40 for a $10 case. Overall I think it works better than the other amplified stethoscopes I've used, and that's nice in a noisy ambulance. The other features are fine, but not necessary on a stethoscope in an emergency setting. It would be nice to see them make a $250 version of this with the pure electronic connection that just has the quality amplification without all the other features. ... show more
