A new class of clarity The 3M Littmann CORE Digital Stethoscope features the outstanding acoustics, comfort and quality of a Littmann cardiology-grade stethoscope enhanced by powerful digital technology. Features like up to 40x amplification1 and active noise cancellation can help you auscultate with greater confidence. The 3M Littmann CORE Stethoscope connects with Eko software on a smart device2 to visualize, record and share data. (Smart device not included. Some features require a subscription.) Take listening to a whole new level The FDA-cleared 3M Littmann CORE Stethoscope toggles between analog and amplified listening modes so you can listen how you want to during assessments. Tunable diaphragm technology—a 3M invention—lets you hear different frequency sounds by simply adjusting the pressure on the chestpiece. Hold the chestpiece with light pressure on the patient to hear low frequency sounds; press a little more to hear higher frequency sounds. Soft- sealing ear tips conform to individual ears for optimal comfort and excellent sound occlusion. The 3M Littmann CORE Stethoscope works with Eko software on iOS and Android devices, giving you a HIPAA compliant means to save and annotate 15, 30, 60 or 120-second recordings in a secure dashboard. Create a library of heart sounds to monitor the progressions of a disease or for education, and securely share recordings with colleagues. 140X amplification based on comparison of analog versus electronically assisted amplified listening with maximum volume at the peak frequency (125 Hz). Well made, easy to use, and clear. My old cardiology stethoscope was hard to hear at times and about 8 years old. When I switched to critical care and pulmonology this stethoscope made it easy to hear everything. Battery life lasts about 2-3 weeks between charges which is good.

This was a game changer for me. The volume settings are amazing. Sound is so crisp and clean. Easy to use with just a push of a button you open up a world of sound quality that can not be matched. I hear everything. It allows greater accuracy in your assessments. It is heavier than the normal stethoscope so be mindful. It also needs to be charged before use. I actually debated about buying for a long time because of the price. A coworker that is hearing impaired uses this so she can function as a nurse with her disability and recommended it to us all. It's a purchase you will not regret. Technology is ever changing as is nursing. We need to match its speed in all aspects. This changed my mind about a lot of products available out there that make our job easier. I won't be falling behind anymore. I added many new electronic items to my nursing bag now. I’m in love with this stethoscope!! It is absolute quality ALL around! The sound quality is outstanding. I’m hard of hearing, and this makes auscultation a breeze! You can use it with it without the extra piece. Love that there are volume controls on the stethoscope, so it’s right at your fingertips. After spending a few hours on the internet I didn't think that I would be able to get a stethoscope that would connect wirelessly to my bluetooth enabled hearing aids. That however, is exactly what the Littmann Core Stethoscope does. In my medical experience (I am a doctor: MD) the Littman cardioscope has always been an excellent instrument. If you are not wearing hearing aids, this instrument amplifies the heart and lung sounds very effectively. That part is unchanged. However, and this is the big news, you can disconnect the headphones from the stethoscope, turn on the Eko app on your bluetooth enabled cell phone (I have an Iphone), select start and connect the CORE device, choose either full cardiac exam or spot check (I prefer the full cardiac exam) and not only do you get a tracing of the heart rhythm, but the heart tones are crystal clear and easily identifiable. I can easily identify my very soft murmur of mild aortic stenosis. One important caveat: be sure that your phone volume setting is about 3 quarters of full volume to full volume. This is the most effective way to get full amplification of the heart tones. I am auscultating heart tones more effectively now (with my hearing impairment) than I was able to do when I had no hearing loss! It's that good. One other point, because you're not tethered to a stethoscope, you can keep a safe distance from those possibly infected patients. I plan to carry the headpiece of the stethecope in my pocket and just use it as such, without the ear pieces. Someone had commented in one of the reviews that I read that said the sounds were "scratchy". I did not experience this problem to any significant degree. You always get a little "scratchiness" with any stethoscope, when you move to different positions on the chest wall. One request of the manufacturer: it would be great if you could manufacture a small cap to cover the opening of the head of the stethoscope (where it connects to the headset tubes) so it doesn't get clogged up in my coat pocket. For all of you hearing impaired medical practitioners, I hope this helps! ... show more

I absolutely love this stethoscope,! I can hear clearly heart rate lung sounds abdominal sounds. It is great. I’m very pleased with this even though it’s expensive I think it’s worth it.

I bought this after I lost my Littman cardiology IV. I was excited to get the Eko that I could sync to my app. The stethoscope itself is good which was not surprising, the amplification the Eko provides is good I can definitely hear things more clearly. My only complaint would having issues with the connection between my device and the app on my phone. I frequently have connection issues which is a functional issue making it harder to use and time too consuming to use. I would’ve given 5 stars if I didn’t have connection issues with the app! ... show more

Honestly the stethoscope is clear enough that you don't necessarily need the eko amplifier. It is incredibly nice when you do need it though. Make sure it's not set too loud tho 😭. Good quality and works well.
