This is an honest review of the Amazon Basics 8-Sheet Cross-Cut Paper Shredder that I have been using for about 9 months now. It replaced an older Amazon Basics 6-Sheet Paper Shredder. Pros: I really like this paper shredder as Amazon has made numerous updates from the previous design that really make this model stand out. Cross-cutting the paper is far better than a straight cut when cutting up sensitive information. This unit is an 8-sheet and has plenty of power, though I rarely do more than 2 or 3 sheets at a time. The size of the can is a standard size that easily accommodates most personal shredding. It chops paper and credit cards with ease. I also like how they added a handle, making it easy to dump, along with a window so you know when it is full. I haven’t had any issues with mine overheating or stopping. In terms of the internal parts, the shredder has had no issues. Opportunities: None. It appears Amazon has listened to its customers and improved significantly on prior designs. Overall: This is an excellent paper shredder for home use.

Arrived at my door less than 12 hrs after I ordered it! Not as loud as I thought, easy to use after I figured out how to set top neatly in place. Does bunch of papers at a time including staples! So glad not to have to sort thru to remove as with old ones I remmeber that would get stuck at anything unusually folded or with a staple. Smaller space that it takes up too. Handle makes it easier to dump base when full. Love the window! Cross cut is great! Good for small home office use and great price.

After having purchased this item some 7 years ago, and during our move to a new home, somehow I dropped the shredder and sadly it ceased to function. So it was probably about time to replace anyway. Only issue I have, and I have noted, that someone else had come to the same conclusion, it is a bit louder than my original Amazon Basic 8 Sheet Cross Cut Paper Shredder and Credit Card Shredder. Other than that it is functional for our business and personal utilization.
