  • Amazing for the price
Size: 40x60
I’m a bit of an optics snob, and I have high-end ($1000+) binoculars from Steiner and others. However, I am a long-distance cyclist and constant vibration and bumps destroyed my favorite Steiner monocular (an 8x22 ~$80 Steiner Miniscope). I thought about buying another Miniscope, but it really doesn’t have much magnification and it’s fragile. SoI decided to look for something “cheap” with more magnification, with the goal of spending less than $100. I found this Pankoo 40x60 Monocular and, along with a 30% off coupon, paid ~$40.00 US (before tax). I will say this monocular is quite nice. Comparing the Pankoo to my $650 Vortex Viper binoculars (the ‘cheapest’ of my nice binoculars), the difference is huge, BUT it costs 16% as much. I have used it to watch fledgling bald eagles in their nest about 200m away and it worked perfectly. Honestly, at that range it’s better than the Steiner, although comparing an 8x22 to a 40x60 isn’t a fair comparison. It’s also much heavier than the Steiner, but again it has much higher magnification. I can hang it off my saddle bag and it gets bumped and abused but it has held up well. And if it dies, I can replace it for very little money. So, with the caveat that you shouldn’t compare this to enthusiast or professional level optics, I can highly recommend the Pankoo monoculars. They are holding up well to the abuse of riding on rough roads and dirt trails. If they die quickly, I will update this review. ... show more

  • Decent for the price.
Size: 40x60
It's a nice monocular, great that it comes with a stand and camera phone holder. You'll need it if you plan on capturing clear images from a longer distance. So i added photos so you can see what I've seen. I originally bought this monocular to use at a shooting range so I can see my hits on a paper target 100+ yards away. I have not been able to test it at a shooting range, but testing it at home was promising. The monocular itself has a decent zoom and adjustable focus that gives you a nice clear image BUT it is not a strong enough zoom for what I'm looking for. With the cell phone attachment, it may be able to accomplish what I need it to do. I'll find out soon enough. Use my photos as a reference for zooming. I am currently using a Samsung S23 ultra at 25x for the final zoomed in photo. My phone can definitely zoom farther if needed. ... show more

  • Good product
Size: 40x60
It’s a bit tricky to line up the phone lense with the lense eye mount on the unit. Also the photo is “circular and not a typical “square “ or four sided photo when taken. If there’s a way to improve on that, it’s up the game tremendously. Still takes decent pictures.

  • Great product for the price
Size: 40x60
Used this as a raffle prize for a group of outdoor enthusiasts. Great way to get a usable product at a reasonable price for non-professionals. Small enough to carry with you on hikes, bike rides, etc. and you don't have to worry about damaging an overly expensive product.

  • It's not 40x60. Not even close
Size: 40x60
I really like nifty, cheap monoculars, so I was kind of excited when I saw this one on sale and with good reviews. Well, it was a bit of a disappointment. I had previously bought a Coyeth 16x60 for about $20 and was pretty impressed with it, so when I saw this Pankoo 40x60 for about $70, I thought maybe it could actually be decent. I know all these cheap monocular brands lie about their magnification and objective lens sizes, but maybe Pankoo wouldn't be lying TOO much? Nope. I compare this to the Coyeth because I was surprisingly pleased with that monocular and it is the other glass that I have at the moment. First the size. It is smaller than the Coyeth by about 2 cm in length, which could be good for portability, but that objective lens size is important for pulling in light. The Coyeth objective lens measured in at about 50 mm, so not as advertised, but not egregious either. The Pankoo, on the other hand, is only about 40 mm in diameter. That's a big difference from what is being advertised, and you can see the difference that it makes in taking pictures at dusk. Look how much dimmer the Pankoo picture is compared to the Coyeth. Next, the magnification. I am a little surprised at how blatantly these monocular brands lie about these things when they are so easy to check. Upon unboxing, it was immediately apparent that the Pankoo had no better magnification than what I had seen with the Coyeth. By taking a picture with and without magnification and then comparing the two, this can be proven. In the pictures, you can see, I drew a box on the wheel of the car without magnification. Then I copied and pasted as many of the same boxes as I needed to fill up the wheel diameter on the pictures using both the Coyeth and the Pankoo. The Coyeth comes in at about 10x. So it's a 10x50 being advertised as a 16x60. Not great, but for $20, whatever. The Pankoo, on the other hand comes in at LESS than 10x, but we'll round up to give them the benefit of the doubt. Still, that means that the advertised Pankoo 40x60 monocular is actually a 10x40! That's ONE QUARTER of the power that they advertise and only TWO THIRDS of the lens diameter... FOR THREE AND A HALF TIMES MORE MONEY! I don't normally review things, but I felt that the truth had to get out there, and maybe some people seeing this comparison will do some similar quantitative(ish) comparisons to shed some light on this habitually dishonest corner of Amazon. I gave two stars instead of one because it is at least functional, although not nearly at its advertised specs. Plus it comes with a couple of useful accessories like a tripod and an adjustable bracket to help center the lens on your phone (although even that is not a great one, and it doesn't hold the lens unless you thicken it up with some tape or something). ... show more
