I know that a lot of reviewers complain that this trimmer makes the trimmed hair "fly" around the bathroom countertop. However, after having purchased a cheaper beard trimmer that had a built-In "vacuum" that sucked the hair into a small chamber, I decided to spend the extra bucks to buy this one because the cheaper model only lasted about 5 months before some of the flimsy plastic parts broke. This trimmer is amazing! When you turn it on, there is a "professional" hum of the motor. It has a really nice feel in the hand and is easy to maneuver. All of the trimmer parts are rinseable and the guard is made of a high quality plastic that won't break easily. There is an adjustment "wheel" that can adjust from super-short to five o'clock shadow length. Note: this is NOT a trimmer for long beards - it is meant to be used with close-cropped beards. The battery life is excellent as well. One full charge has lasted me 3+ weeks of daily trimming of my beard. It also has a great safety feature to child-proof the trimmer: simply hold the power button in, and the trimmer is locked so it can't accidentally be turned on. Another long-press will unlock the trimmer for use. I highly recommend this trimmer even though it costs almost double of cheaper models. But as I said, having been disappointed with a cheaper trimmer that didn't last more than 5 months, it is well worth the extra money.

I replaced my 15-year-old Wahl beard trimmer with this. This is a very high-quality, well-built product with plenty of length settings. (Perhaps too many - but I did see another with more). I really only need two and this certainly has more than my old Wahl. When you turn this on you know you have a high-quality product, the hum is low and fast, and quiet. I haven't had to charge it yet so the battery seems to last quite a while. (I have had it for three months not but I do not use it every day - more like twice a week) The drawbacks - It does not come with a case (But you can buy one for $13-15 on Amazon. Its charging cable has a somewhat large base (2' x 3/3") to plug into the wall, which takes a bit of room when packing. Finally, I wish the plastic "Trimming comb" felt a bit more substantial. It's thin and light, and I kinda feel like it could easily crack or snap, especially during traveling. It's the one piece that feels cheap on this otherwise quality razor.

An effective beard trimmer, good battery life, easily maintained. The spacer attachment allows good control over the beard length, from very short, to about a half inch. Note that some hairs will be missed, as they get pressed against the skin by the spacer, so it won't be a professional standard trim, but quite adequate. Maintenance is simple, just keep it clean and oil the blades periodically with the lubricant supplied with the trimmer. Note the spacer attachment is flexible plastic, made thin by necessity to let the beard hairs through. It snaps into place easily, but should be treated gently, as it looks and feels fragile.

I've got a drawer full of "bargain" beard trimmers -- I use both for my beard and to buzz cut my head. At the $40 price point, you can pick them up everywhere, and they are at best barely adequate. This Panasonic is pricier, but well worth the money, much, _much_ better than the Conair and other cheaply made competitors. Yes, its pricey, but this is so much better -- and cheaper -- than the poorly made bargains that I buy from the drugstore when my beard gets too shaggy. Highest recommendation here. The power to cut through a thick beard -- no problem. Didn't catch or nick. Really first rate and worth your money. Or mine, anyway.

I have been struggling to find clippers I really like. These are great! You can get close to your nose because of the way the guard was designed. I like that I don't have to keep track of all the independent guards. The dial to select is perfect. Just keep oiling the blades after each use and I am sure these will last for a very long time.

I've had all the cheaper trimmers out there, they work ok, and perform well around $40-50. So why would you spend 3 time the amount on this trimmer? 1. The battery life is amazing, being a Li ion setup it can last a whole week before charging, which makes it perfect for travel. This is the only Li Ion panasonic beard trimmer out right now, the others are older tech that is cheaper. Step up to something better! 2. The motor is the most powerful i've ever owned, it sounds different, very very fast, very very smooth. My other trimmer sometimes felt like it was tugging at my long beard hair, this thing sounds like a formula one engine turning on, very satisfying sound and performance. 3. Insane fine adjustment! This thing can adjust itself in very fine adjustments, way more so then my previous trimmers. 4. Sturdy and well built, it doesn't feel like a toy. This feels like the Rolex of trimmers, a little bigger, a little heavier, finely machined and assembled. 5. Waterproof?! This thing can handle an adventure in the shower, or a quick wash down to get it clean again! The other ones in this series do not provide that. So who should buy this? Someone who wants to pamper themself on something better. We all trim our beards or body hair often, make it a peaceful experience! I highly recommend this trimmer!

I bought this to cut my hair at home during the early days of the pandemic. The trimmer head is narrow and the attachment only extends at most 10mm, making it virtually impossible to use to cut head hair. The trimmer blade is sharp and the machine is impeccably made. However, it could only practically trim sideburns and beard.
