Wow, this holds a lot more than I was expecting. It has a very large capacity - good thing everything that goes in is empty and lightweight. I like the bamboo frame at the top, it is just a nice touch on the soft cloth material and looks nice. The hole on top is really handy for bottles and cans. If you are putting in something larger or a box, you can lift the lid and toss it in. Easy and handy. Much better than an ugly garbage bag hanging somewhere or thrown on a floor. It is also nicer looking than most recycling bins, with its dark black canvas and finished bamboo top frame. The Bag is a standard giant nylon shopping bag that bears little relationship to the recycling bin, though it holds smashed boxes aplenty. I found the English instructions to be more than a little inscrutable, the German instructions easier to follow. I get the impression the framing parts have been through several partial style changes--I would advise that, if the instructions are hard to understand or don't seem to completely correspond to the parts, just use your brain, and do what works for you. Honestly, the bag neither turns me on or off. But the recycling bin is plenty useful in my kitchen. I'm glad to have it, very pleased that it actually looks nice, and Queen Rutabaga has given it the Royal seal of approval. ... show more

This item is great when it has been put together. We had two people confused at where the support poles slide into. The ribbons referenced in the instructions are in the bottom of the unit. We went to the product page in order to put a simple item togeher. Once the bin is put together, it is light but sturdy. The bag has velcro in the corners which keeps it firm to the bin. It removes very easily and goes back with no issues. The instructions did cause annoyance so we reduced a star but this is a nice recycling bin and bag combo. ... show more

I thought this recycle bin would be great for returning bottles and cans to the store. The design is not great and the instructions are minimal at best. The only thing holding this bin up is friction. There are no holes or indentations or straps to hold the vertical rods in pace. The outer container does not have a rigid base. The lid is just a flap. It is stiff but there is nothing to hold it in place so it can slide around. The inner bag attaches to the Velcro on the rod casings in an awkward manner. The rubber opening is not cut neatly. The instruction are not very clear on how to assemble but once it's up it is more solid than I would have thought. Its nice to have an inner washable canvas bag in case some bottles or cans still have liquid in them.     • Material difficult to keep clean
I really like this recycle bin. It comes needing assembly which isn't too difficult once you get the hang of it. The directions aren't the greatest, but I found the assembly to be intuitive and easy to figure out. I love the look of this bin and it fits well in my kitchen without being an eyesore. It is also light and easy to move around. The main feature that I really love is the removable tote bag that I can easily take out and empty the recyclables into the recycling dumpster, where I live. This is very handy. My only concern is regarding the material that this entire thing is made of. It is a canvas type material, which may be difficult to keep clean. The inner bag is made of the same material, but with a plastic feel to it. I am wondering how it will hold up in the washing machine. I am questioning the choice to make this whole thing out of fabric. This costs nearly 40 dollars. My stainless steel trash can cost 50 dollars. That said, though this is nice, I don't think that this recycle bin is worth 40 dollars, especially given the fact that once it is messy, it is pretty much trash and will need to be replaced. I rinse my recyclables, thoroughly, but through time it will still get dirty. Not a good choice of material to construct a recycle bin with, in my opinion. ... show more

This recycle container is slender with a large capacity. It can be used for multiple types of recycle needs like plastic, metal, glass or trash. I like that it came with a clear holder with recycle cards to slide in and stick it to the container. However, the sticky backing doesn't work on the polyester material. It keeps falling off so I used clear glue to make it stay on the material. It hasn't fallen off yet. The slot on top of the lid makes it quick and simple to toss recyclable items in or the lid can open up for larger items making both options very convenient. I thought assembling it would take about 10 minutes but it turned into 30 minutes. The instructions provided were not clear with step "B". The rods were simple to unfold but the instructions don't tell you the rods slide into four material slots on each corner located inside at the bottom of the container. I was looking for slots at the top near the rim! Once you locate the slots, each rod slides into them to create the frame and then they are rip locked at the top near the bamboo rim. The recycle container is lightweight. Its sturdy but it would be sturdier if it was plastic or metal. It has a basic look and standard black color. There is an inner bag that can be removed to hold the items in and I like that its washable. I lined mine with a trash bag to avoid it from getting too dirty or sticky.
