This is a socket that is deeper to allow it to fit over your oil sensor. I like the combination bottom so you can use a ratchet or a wrench. In a tight area you might not be able to fit a ratchet and would have to use a hand wrench. This allows you that option. It fits perfect on my sensor and the socket is coated in a protective oil film. So it might be a little slippery at first. I use disposable gloves and it was a little slippery at first. This is definitely a socket you want to get if you have to replace your oil sensor. Normal deep well sockets do not have the hex bottom so you are forced to use a ratchet. If you can’t fit a ratchet in the space you have, you can’t use a normal socket. I recommend this for any DIY user. ... show more

This is your typical impact socket. Do you need this to be an impact socket, probably not. This should have been a non-impact, chrome socket. The only reason I am saying this is because the socket ships with a light coating of oil on it to prevent corrosion. Therefore a chrome socket may be an option. This socket is marked with a size, but nothing tells you it is an Oil Pressure Sensor Socket. Eventually, I will be searching for this socket in a drawer full of other impact sockets and I will not remember this is the oil pressure socket. They should have labeled it on the socket.
