Features

  • Engine Cylinder Leakage Test: JIFETOR cylinder leak gauge set is designed to detect a variety of common engine faults including: worn piston rings, worn valves, cracks in cylinder walls and blown head gaskets. Available with either single gauge shows % of cylinder leakage, or twin gauge manifold show cylinder leakage and cylinder pressure. Suitable for any gasoline engine with 14, 12 or 10 millimetre spark plugs. The % gauge is a precise instrument, please handle it with care
  • Working Principle of Leakdown Detector: Once the leakage tester has been connected to one of the cylinders, compressed air (45-100 pounds per square inch) is fed into that particular cylinder through the built in pressure regulator. Diagnosis is made by observing the amount of leakage that is indicated on the cylinder leakage gauge and by listening for leakage at various points of the cars system. Please note: This cylinder leak tester is not suitable for shallow cylinder
  • Dual Pressure Gauges Assembly: There are American style air plug, pressure regulating valve, aluminum manifold body, cylinder pressure gauge, cylinder leakage gauge, 19 inch long rubber nylon resin hose with quick coupler on the assembly. The two gauges adopt rubber cover protected 3 inch large dial, the pressure gauge with scale range 0-100 pounds per square inch / 0-7 bar, and the leakage gauge with color coded range marked with HIGH MODERATE LOW SET
  • 3 Adapters and Other Parts: There are 3 sizes adapters brass coated aluminum 14 millimetre (fixed on a 10 inch long hose), aluminum 12 and 10 millimetre (both can be connected to 14 millimetre adapter), can help to test the gasoline engine with 10 12 14 millimetre spark plug holes. The instruction has detailed introduces about notification, connection method, operation steps, fault diagnosis, please read it carefully first
  • Detailed Product Manual and Case: The instructions in the package introduce the usage and precautions of the product in detail. Please read product manual carefully before operation, and always refer to equipment manufacturer's operation instruction, compare to the manufacturer's recommended readings. Customized blow molding case keeps JIFETOR engine cylinder leak down tester kit in place and protects the gauges during storage
  • Process Upgrade: After process upgrade, this cylinder leak detector can measure subtle leaks

  • I TOOK A CHANCE AND SCORED!
Color: Red
I checked out reviews on many leakdown testers on Amazon and could not find one with consistently good ratings. I suspect that many of the poor ratings were due to mishandling of the device (it's easy to blow out 1 or both gauges if you don't follow the proper procedure) but there were also many seemingly legit complaints about flimsy parts and poor quality. I spotted this tester by jifitor, newly released and with 0 reviews. It was in the lower price range so I thought I'd take a shot and be the first one to review (you're welcome). This tester is everything i hoped it would be. The body is a nice solid chunk of metal and the gauges are good size with protective rubber sleeves over them. There is a quick connector for the air inlet that fit my compressor, although there are many different connectors and you may have to switch it. The hose and adapters for the spark plug hole fits both usual sizes for cars and also the smaller 10mm for motorcycles. Would have liked this hose to be a bit longer - might be a pain for big block v8's. One very good thing about this unit was the clear and comprehensive instructions. It clearly states the warning about turning the regulator on the unit to 0 before connecting the air line to avoid damage and it also shows a long list of possible causes of air escaping from different parts of your engine. If I had never used a LD tester before I believe I could have followed these instructions and had no trouble. Like everything made these days it comes in a blow-molded case (I have a tall stack of such cases in my garage) but anything with gauges should be kept in a case. Overall this is a perfect tester for a casual user or even a shop that might use it once or twice a week. The regulator knob is plastic and it might survive a drop or 2 but I wouldn't want to chance that. I fed in 95 psi from my compressor and it worked fine. In conclusion if you need a leakdown tester I would recommend this one. I just hope you have better luck with your engine than I did (air blowing out oil dipstick engine has to come out) ... show more

  • Great after-sale customer service.

Ordered this tool and got a defective product, contacted the people at Jifetor and they took care of the issue same day. Within a couple days I had a working unit in hand (due to shipping) which let me move forward with diagnosing cars.

  • Knowing how it works is half the battle
Color: Red
I bought this to check out an engine that I had pulled to see if it was worth trying to sell. To use this, you have to set the pressure on the second gauge to zero without the hose going to the spark-plug connected to the quick connect. This took right at 100 psig. Then, with the piston at top dead center for firing and the spark-plug hose connected in the block, connect the spark plug hose to the quick connect. On my first cylinder, it had zero leakage. The rest were toast. Be aware that the pressure in the cylinder might cause it to rotate the crank if things are working properly. Eric the car guy has a video on it which provides insight into its use. Great tool for a great price. ... show more

  • This is an interesting product and therefore review. Please consider this unit from Jifetor.
Color: Red
From all the photos of all the leakdown testers, almost all appeared to be the same manufacturer. And yet, all had different reviews. This one did not have all 5 star reviews BUT in EVERY case where there was a product issue, they were more than willing to step in a work with the customer to resolve it. This was the case with me. The threads on the spark plug hose were a little off and one letter, with a reply within an hour or so, got the offer for a return or a replacement hose. I picked the hose and this second one looked much, much nicer than the original. I will highly recommend ordering this tester exclusively from JEFETOR as their customer service has really been better than almost any Amazon vendor I've worked with. I'll say thanks to them for how they handled a product that was, most likely, manufactured somewhat out of their immediate control to make it right for me and others. Again, a 5 star rating, somewhat for their product but certainly for their customer service. ... show more

  • It does not work as listed!
Color: Blue
I recently purchased a cylinder leak down tester kit and I am extremely disappointed with the product. The kit arrived with missing parts and the instructions were not clear and incomplete. The tester itself felt flimsy and cheap, and it didn't provide accurate results. The connections were also poorly designed and they leaked air, making it difficult to get accurate readings. I also found that the kit was not compatible with all types of engines and vehicles, which made it difficult to use on multiple vehicles. Overall, I would not recommend this cylinder leak down tester kit to anyone, it's a waste of money and time. I would advise looking for a different and more reliable product on the market. ... show more

  • Works pretty well
Color: Blue
Works pretty darn well to determine if your problem is a valve (and which valve) or piston/ring compression leakage. Pay attention to instructions. Use a pre-regulator to keep unit input pressures under 100 psi, that small leakage gauge is sensitive. And be sure the unit input pressure regulator is backed out to zero before connecting the input compressor air. We set our input air at 60-70 lbs, back the unit air adjustment all the way out to zero, apply air, set the leakage gauge to zero, connect to plug hole, then check for leakage behind intake, then exhaust valves. Piston leakage will come into the crankcase (or the water jackets/radiator if you have a bad head gasket or cracked block/head. New engines can have around 15% leakage overall. Color bands on leakage gauge for acceptable limits. ... show more
