I read SO many reviews. Always. I'm hesitant to buy products with minimal reviews or some unforgivably bad reviews (despite being 4+ stars). I was hesitant to spend $20+ on a can opener. I live life on a budget. $20 for a can opener is steep for us. But I got some Christmas money and thought I'd splurge after the last time I tried to use our old can opener made me breakdown crying in the kitchen because it took 5+ times in the midst of holiday cooking just to get it to hook onto the can lip. Would really rate 3-1/2 stars. It’s pricey. It works well but it doesn’t seem nearly as good as my old Swing-A-Way that I had for 20 years (which no longer opened well). I just feel this is a bit flimsy, but isn’t that true of so many products we buy to replace old models? It is easy to turn. But I had one can that it didn’t cut into properly. I read so many reviews of hand openers and felt this might be the best. Will see. I don’t think I’d choose this again. It’s supposedly all stainless and shouldn’t rust. Hum??? ... show more

I previously bought a manual can opener from a major brand that the blade was not large enough to puncture and open many cans. This one is well made and perfect. I have always had good luck with this brand of kitchen ware.

I love this can opener it is easy to use and it is nice and sharp. I don’t like an electric one because it seems like they don’t stay sharp for very long. I had one of these that I just replaced and it lasted for at least 15 years.

I bought this same can opener in 2011. It's nice but not as heavy duty as last one. This one isn't as easy to use as the first one I bought. By today's standards it is probably as good as you can get.
