Description

Freshly steamed vegetables are a snap with the OXO Good Grips Steamer with Extendable Handle. The telescoping handle extends and locks into position for filling and transporting, and retracts to accommodate pot lids while steaming. For extra reach, a fork can be inserted into the handle. The feet on the Steamer fold for storage and open up to 1 3/4" so plenty of water can be used for steaming. Simply remove the handle when the entire basket is needed for steaming large items like fish fillets. The sturdy, stainless steel Steamer is dishwasher safe.

The collapsible "legs" stand high enough above water so that a pot won't be ruined by boiling dry. There are less expensive steamers, but the "legs" and the collapsible handle, which makes it easy to pick up, make this worth the high price.

I've purchased this streamer tray twice now because it feels much more sturdy than any other collapsible steamer trays out there. The telescoping handle is really cool but my first one fell off, thus the second purchase. Fix that OXO and it would be the best

Best fit for this product is for larger families and serving four or more people. With a 7-inch diameter, the steamer basket doesn't fit into small or medium size sauce pans. Our work around is to use a 10-inch x 3-inch deep brasir skillet, but requires a dome shape lit (a flat lid has interference from the basket lifting handle. From an old EKCO steamer basket; has a 5-1/2 inch diameter & fits all small or medium size sauce pans ... no giant skillet required. Cheers, FanBelt32 ... show more

I bought this after a review watching a Cook's Country cooking show on PBS. They were cooking the perfect hard boiled eggs. I love that is has legs you can raise or lower the height of the steamer. The eggs came out perfect and I use this thing for steaming squashes and peppers for stuffing!
