I've owned it for only a week but so far it's been a great cooktop. The burners are powerful. I'm using it primarily to keep food warm so I've found I need to use the lowest setting or it will boil the food. And the cast iron burner tops hold the heat, so it takes getting used to how it operates. Overall it's a terrific value. Controls work nicely. Looks really good. Nothing negative to say. Very pleased with this purchase. I gave a 4 on cleaning because the burner tops have small grooves that could potentially be a little challenging to clean if food spills and burns. ... show more

This is a life saver! Very modern design, light weight, and fits in small spaces. Works better than an old stove which takes a long time to heat up and boil water. Although these burners work too well! You have to be careful with the temperature because it does heat up fast and it’s super hot. I actually had to turn it off and unplug it because it kept heating my food too much even at low heat. But that’s not a problem, I love my burners. They’re a great and useful purchase. ... show more

I purchased this to cut on gas cost from stove which we don't use anymore. It sits perfectly on main stove. We already saw a difference in light bill, although the " fees" out cost any actual use of gas usage. As for this stove top, it's very nice looking, two sides which function & heats fast slow for boiling like 2-5 minutes. It does have a slight smoky scent sometimes but doesn't last long maybe 1-2 minutes. It's cast iron but upon a few uses the top left appears to show wear already ( coating). It's easy to clean up but you have to be careful to do so after appliance "cools" down because it stays hot. I usually turn off about 5 minutes before I am done cooking as it stays hot & I allow it to finish off my cooking like that. In cleaning: the button grade numbers on left side faded already so I have to figure the heat seating ( about a month after). It has heat settings and (dots) to keep as warmer. I like the size for pots resting on both sides. Just be careful what & how you clean so that you don't over scrub it and don't realize the imprinted number can fade with use. We don't cook all the time but works fine, can be stored, thick cord it's saving us money on light bill, the gas stove was costly but only be used for like turkey and larger baking for holidays. Arrived fine, but you need to learn to get familiar with the grading on heating, once you know your good to go. ... show more

Two weeks ago we woke up to find we were without gas. Someone driving by our house had smelled gas and called the gas company. The gas company came by in the middle of the night and turned off the gas. (Then left a hanging card on the front door) It wasn't until I couldn't get the gas stove to light that I realized something was wrong. It is a very long and involved story... but bottom line, found out it could take 6 to 8 weeks before the gas can be repaired. I'm on a special diet, so I have to cook. I can't do that without a stove. Desperate, I went searching for a way to still cook. I ruled out propane and butane ( poor ventilation), so an electric hotplate was the answer. This hot plate does yeoman's work. For the past two weeks I have this cooktop going from dawn til dusk, cooking / heating water continuously (e.g. water for bathing, washing, laundry and cleaning.) It's a hell of a lot of work, but this little electric stovetop handles the load like a champ. Honestly, I prefer it to my gas stove. I can't believe an appliance this inexpensive (less than $30) is this durable. I can't recommend it enough. ... show more
