  • Get over the weirdness...this thing is really great.
I didn't buy my Ove Smart Toilet from Amazon, but I DO use Amazon a lot---so I thought I would help them (and you) with a review. First, I should say that my wife and I got used to smart toilets on our recent trip to Japan where they are fairly common. At first they seem a bit not-needed. When you get used to them you will wonder why everyone doesn't have one. I researched smart toilets a lot before deciding on this one. It is easily the best quality for the price you will find. I only gave it 4-stars because the the installation is bewildering and somewhat difficult. Installation instructions are non-existent. They basically say, "hook it up to the water and power." Be advised: 1) the bolts to secure it down will be hidden in the base and only accessible through a "hole" in the back---which when mounted against a wall is quite restricted. You will find yourself bolting it down by feel---not sight. 2) The water filter (why?) is a plastic bottle with small plastic tubes that will tuck into the rear hole when installed---but connect it onto the toilet BEFORE you mount it to the floor. 3) Likewise...connect the (regular) water supply fitting and the flexible water line to the toilet before you mount it to the floor. It is simply a lot easier. My only issues (so far) having installed it yesterday are concerning installation. This was my first toilet install, but it went well considering the poor instructions and a bit of wrestling, sweating...and a beer. Don't bother looking for more installation information online---you won't find any. Someday, toilets like this will be common. It will do it's toilet thing as expected, but then wash and dry your rear. Sounds weird at first, but you WILL feel and BE cleaner. Feel free to ask questions... ... show more

  • Am in love with a toilet!
Bought this for my daughter who had surgery and needed a self-flushing toilet and a fanny cleaner to boot as she wouldn’t be able to do these things for a while. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would use all the things this toilet does, much less love it and intend to change every toilet out in the house for one of these. It is simply amazing. Also helps our septic as only one butt-wipe is required no matter the mess. I cannot relay how much I enjoy all the features on this baby! Well worth the money! ... show more

  • Poor quality Poor customer service
Don’t waste your (considerable) money on this product or the manufacturer. It broke soon after purchase with constant water spray in the bowl and would not shut off. A replacement top was ordered and paid for, but after 6+ months still not sent. A complete waste of time and money.

  • Bad customer service
I have four units for the last 2-3 years. They were working ok until one lost power and another was peeping nervously. Tried to find online troubleshooting but non exists. I called them and the lady on the phone asked me for the model number. I asked where on the unit I can find it. She replied, "it's on the paper instructions". I don't keep the paper instructions since we have the internet. Apparently, she got all lost and made me feel like an idiot for not keeping the paper. Lady, what about your French engineers place the model number clearly and you making a troubleshooting page available? AVOID and get a more organized brand. ... show more

  • Nice Bidet Toilet & Remote Control - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
While I did not buy the Ove Decor (marked model "735H" <== an old marketing identifier, its been renamed to "Saga"), Bidet from Amazon, but rather from a different retailer, the toilet appears to be well made. It ships from Canada. Ove Decor is Chinese manufactured, and is rebranded by Ove Decor in Canada. ( import info: en.52wmb.com/buyer/21793598 ) While I generally do not care much for folks who write a glowing reviews of a product that they have only had for a few hours or a week or two, I had my toilet installed only three weeks ago. The user manual is written in the logic of "Chinglish", and is not intuitive, eg, doesn't impart logical reasoning. However, operating the bidet for several minutes enables one to make sense of the user-manual. But be prepared to either catch the streaming wand water with a basin or block the stream with your hand, else it will spray water all over the room. One may trick the toilet into 'thinking' that someone is sitting on the seat by placing a small folded square of moistened toilette paper located about middle between front to back of the right side seat while facing it. The controls located on the toilet are difficult to reach while sitting on the toilet especially if one is bit rotund...heavy-set, as the body flaps over-hang the control panel occluding the buttons. While the remote control, when it works, is just about the only way to operate the toilet so don't lose it. My toilet arrived without any batteries for the remote, which requires 2x AAA batteries. The remote was obviously designed by non-European-Americans, as its function logic is rather obscure, in my opinion. Also, one need remember, that nothing on the toilet responds instantly, and that there is a delay between the time a command button is pushed to its being received and acknowledged (denoted by a single beep) and when the toilet begins the physical action commanded.. In other words, once one hears the beep, don't again push any button, in frustration of attempting to cause something to happen instantly. If ya hear a beep, it will happen, the toilet just takes its time to do so. If ya hear two beeps, that means that the button command was received, but the toilet can not do the function because it is busy doing something else ya told the toilet to do. My main dislike is the number of button pushes that elicit no beep response, meaning that the either toilet didn't recognize the command or the remote did not send the command!!? Part of the remote problem is that when ya push a button the first time, it only causes the remote LED to illuminate all the buttons, but it sends no command. Its the 2nd push that sends the actual desired command, however, pushing the same button a third time, causes the toilet to emit the busy, two beeps. What were the remote designers thinking? However, there are times when pushing a button the 2nd time, does nothing, because its not working!! But when it works, it works well. When ya install the toilet if you see a blue light flashing, that means something is amiss. In my case, one of the two water valves was not turned on. The ball valve had not been turned on, yet the water inlet valve had been so the toilet was able to flush, but not stream any cleaning water. The installation crew that I contracted to install the toilet did not bother to read the instructions, and had neglected to use the fast-on tube-pipe connector clip which prevents the wand-water jet source pipe from popping out. When they turned on the ball valve, the pipe popped out spraying water all over the wall behind the toilet. Then they packed up and left. So I called Ove Decor tech-support line in Canada, because the toilet was flashing blue light and the user manual advised that the toilet wasn't working properly. (Ove Decor's telephone system, a VOIP InterNet phone was malfunctioning). It was operating badly, and after being on hold for 20 minutes, the quality of the audio was so poor that there were only one or two words of a 10 minute chat that was understandable between us and to make things worse, there is only one phone number listed. But the info I learned was that the wand water ball-valve wasn't turned on. Turning on the ball valve caused the water pipe to pop out again spraying water all over the wall. I called the plumbing company and they resent the plumber 'technician' phukup back to my place. He swore to me that he looked for the clip and was unable to find it. But I saw it inside a sealed bag. So he went out looked around in his van through the garbage and found it. Only one little problem, the water hookups are located directly behind and are recessed inside the toilet, accessible only through a 6 inch square opening, which prevents visual access of the internal toilet components and piping system. The plumber had to install the clip only by feel. Then all was good. I bought this toilet as I expended around 6 months searching and eye-balling dozens of bidet style add-on retro-fit kits, which are generally priced the same as the Ove Decor 'Saga' bidet toilet but not as well made. Those bidets are comprised entirely of plastic, which must be fitted to an existing toilet by placing the bidet 'top' component onto the rim of an existing installed toilet. Expensive, plastic only, junk, for the most part. While the Ove Decor unit is a seamlessly designed mostly one peice multifunction bidet and toilet, which are designed to work together. While top plastic component does come off, it was designed specifically to fit that ceramic toilet, which incidentally, weighs 300Lbs!! I bought this bidet for my wife who is electric scooter bound, and who has multiple scelerosis...MS. MS is a nasty brain disease that over time, gradually paralyzes the afflicted person. It is mainly a women's disease. Its a bit like having multiple, tiny strokes, that periodically recurr in different areas of the brain. There are now pharmaceutical therapies for the ailment, but none to date, reliably stops the progression of the debilitating effects. A few lucky people actually experience remission should they be diagnosed early enough and are able to afford the expensive pharmaceutical therapies...shots or recently available pills. As it is very liekly that none of the local plumbing vendors stock Ove Decor bidet replacement toilet components, and prior to purchase, I called Ove Decor marketing headquarters in Canada regarding spare-parts for their 'Saga' model 735H bidet toilet. They told me that they did not have any spare parts available, yet. But that they promised that they would in a few weeks. So I took a chance. But I told them that I require spare parts because the toilet must exhibit nearly zero-down-time. Meaning, if I don't have spare parts at my location, and should something such as the mechanical float or flapper valve fail, the repair of which would require several weeks just to procure the replacement components and then because of how the toilet is engineered, a plumber is required to remove the toilet from the floor to replace internal parts. In light of the fact that of the several times that I have attempted to contact the Ove Decor headquarters and have been unable to speak with their personell due to the ongoing telephone system problem, I am becoming concerned that they are an incompetent company that markets a nice bidet, but what good is it all if there are no replacement components. I paid nearly a $1000 US Dollars for that toilet. I am not going to discard and buy a new unit simply because I can't procure a $30 float valve. Capece? Simply stated, Ove Decor best get their act together and they must resolve that remote control problem else what good is the bidet? ... show more

  • Great product. Works great
Great product. Works great. The only negative I would say is that the remote control is a little dated and clunky, but the toilet itself and the features all work as advertised.
