The heat is great just too high up for legs and feet

Okay so although this can be used inside , I like to use it better outside, make sure the surface is even and your not on a slope because the legs need to be set a certain way to brace for stability. It gets hot and does a great job at keeping us at a good temperature on cold camping nights.

Since it's gotten a little chilly outside I wanted to get something to keep us warm on the balcony, and this does just that. Now I only gave it 4 stars due to the stability and lack of instructions, but other than that it's not bad. After figuring out where it all went, I had it together in no time, but I feel directions would've been nice. Either way, for the price you could probably find better, but so far it's holding up and heating our balcony. Oh, and the video of them spraying water into it cracks me up, because that doesn't seem realistic, nor would I ever try it, but hey, if it holds up to that kind of abuse, then it may be great for camping too.

This is one of those items that works, but you have to do too much to get it to that point. The first thing I noticed was that the stand has a defect. The collar that holds the height adjustment comes right off the bottom post. The glue that holds it on was insufficient and failed. I can and will fix that myself so it is not worth sending back. You will want to check and see if you want to deal with it. See the photo I uploaded. The instructions are only mildly relevant to the actual item. The pieces don't really match up and the hardcopy illustrations are hard to relate to the actual assembly of the heater. I decided to just wing it and eventually got it assembled. You can see my photos which show how I put the bolts and pieces in place. After the fact, I discovered that more accurate instructions for assembly are in the Amazon online product listing. These are a much closer match. The listing says the head can tilt in a range of 45° but It is actually on a fixed position bracket. I suppose you could invert the bracket by removing all it's bolts and re-attaching it upside down from the original, but that seems cumbersome. I assembled it to point slightly down, which is how I will use it. The heat output is good and feels like it is in the range of the spec. It does heat up quickly. The remote control works OK and has markings corresponding to the heat output in watts. This is much better than the instructions which call each meeting some sort of program or whatever. The settings are 500, 1000, and 1500 watts. The timer is easy to set, but it is by hours (1-24 hours). I didn't use it as of yet. Although the stand was defective, it worked OK once repaired and is plenty sturdy enough. It is similar to a DJ speaker stand, so I suppose you can use one of those if this one seems insufficient or it breaks down. Although it has not been a problem yet, I do not trust the black plastic ends of the heater to last very long. They are OK now, but I suspect they will get brittle and break after a season or two. The plastic is not very thick and this thing does get hot. Overall, if you can get it at a great price, and are patient with the above issues, go for it. Otherwise, you maybe should pass and look for a more finished product.

This heater seems to be nice. There is an adjustment for changing the wattage and there is also a timer. The tripod seems to be pretty sturdy and well made. There is just a metal bracket that holds the heater onto that tripod. The heater does get super hot and warms up quickly. This can be used inside or outside. On a patio if your close enough it will keep everyone warm. If it’s inside it will heat up a room super quick. My main complaint is the tripod. I’m not sure if I trust this enough to have it inside. It may work if the bracket is attached to a wall which could be iffy. Definitely check the wall regularly to make sure it don’t get hot. I just get afraid my daughter could knock it over if used on a tripod. All in all it seems like a decent product. The directions was junk which I didn’t use them anyway because it seems way to often that the directions are lacking. If you plan on using this outdoors I say go for it. It does heat up nicely. If you want to use it indoors then that’s a choice you need to make. It doesn’t put off any type of odor which is good.

This is a cheaply made product with no instructions well horrible instructions parts not there that's needed to mount on stand waited to long to open it now cant return

First off, the included directions tell you to assemble the heater and stand with parts you don't get in the package. Instead, pay attention to the video posted here on the product page. I love the tripod. Very solid. I'm less thrilled with the heater itself. Yes, I get that it's essentially a "toaster," but it seems rather shabbily made. For example, the unit I have rattles a bit. And that rattles me a bit. I'm also not persuaded that I won't pay "toaster" level prices using this. Yes, I know these heaters are supposed to be cost-efficient, but in my area the calculator tells me it will raise my monthly electricity bill by close to $100 for just a few hours of use each day in the evening. I think I'd rather stick to my propane heaters. But YMMV and it's a good thing that choices are available. I wanted to be "wowwed" by this. Maybe I will be once the cooler weather gets here. But at this point I wasn't. I don't dislike this item, but I can't say I really like it either. And in Amazon's scheme of things that means... 3 stars.
