This is my 2nd O Sight optic, after my SE. Wanted an enclosed RMR optic for my compact pistol, but everything out there is so expensive or not trustworthy or has a warranty beyond one year. So when O Sight released the XR on 1/19, I knew I needed to get this as it had a low introductory price. Lifetime no questions warranty that is transferable too. So I had peace of mind. Anyway, got the product on 1/20 and was so impressed with O Sight’s packaging and contents. It really shows the company cares about what they put out to the consumer. Everything is super high quality: packaging, accessories, tool, screw variety pack, optic, and charging hood. The optic itself is very clear, with an incredible 2 MOA and 6 MOA dot, that you can combine with a 32 MOA circle if you like, or just the circle. I need the 2 MOA dot as I like to shoot distance and competition. But I also like the 6 MOA dot for closer targets and CCW defensive situations. I use the circle only for my daily carry as it’s very easy to find under stress. Today was my first range day with it and I proceeded to ensure it’s zeroed at 25 yards. I did a laser bore sight to start it out from home , but that rough zero only worked at 10 yards. As I moved back to 15, then 25 yards, it required some stable bench resting of my pistol to ensure my shots were being precisely placed so I could adjust for zero. I finally was consistent and confident of my zero at 25 yards after putting around 200 rounds through the process. The XR did hold zero easily but I’ll need to see if it really holds zero after I go through a case or two of ammo. One thing I thought wasn’t great were the pop up rear sights. They are too short to be of any real use. If they were a couple of mm taller, then those sights would be perfect. I hope O Sight will make this revision sometime at a later release. Other than that, the sight is built solidly, the window size is perfect for me and for carry, the dot and circle are very crisp and sharp, and it’s enclosed IPX7 so I don’t need to worry about debris or water or anything blocking my emitter or glass. With my open reflex sights I do experience dirt and water blocking my sight so it really doesn’t inspire CCW confidence. So far the sight is performing excellently and I know that O Sight will replace Holosun as the best value optic on the market. At a great intro price, and Amazon’s return policy, and O Sight’s lifetime warranty, anyone can be confident at least trying this new sight. I believe it will easily become the most popular enclosed RMR on the market within weeks or a few months.

I’ve been testing the Osight XR for six months and fired 2,500 rounds before writing this review. This purchase is my 2nd Osight XR. The sight is made from 7075-T6 aluminum and features a large window. The motion sensor is extremely responsive and auto-shuts off after three minutes. Charging was quick, reaching full capacity in less than 1hr. Unboxing / Installation Packaging was neat and secure, with accessories neatly organized: instructions, charging hood with bag and strap, USB cable, tool, and screw set. Osight (along with Vortex) sets the standard for optic screw kits, and their website makes installation easy by identifying the correct screws for your firearm. Bore sighting took only three clicks, and I was essentially zeroed straight out of the box. Glass / Reticle The aspherical lens provides a clear, distortion-free sight picture. You get 3 NV and 8 daylight brightness settings, with reticle options including 2 MOA, 6 MOA, and an optional 32 MOA circle. A standout feature is the collapsible backup rear sight, which paired well with my front night sight and easily hit steel at 15 yards. Durability / Reliability I do stress optics through real-world use. This sight was used to rack the slide off tables, barricades, belts, etc. without issue, and it held zero flawlessly. Overall The Osight XR is a well-rounded, feature-rich optic ideal for EDC or duty use. Controls are simple and intuitive, performance is excellent, and the price point is impressive. The XR clearly reflects Osight’s continued innovation and growth, and I’m excited to see what they release next.

So I have had several red dots from OSight starting with the first one they put out a little over a year ago. All I can say they’ve come a long way since then. This is probably the nicest one I have tried so far. I was finally able to get it mounted and out to the range over the weekend. I like the pop-up rear site addition as it gives me an extra point of reference. Optics are clear, the choice of reticles was quick and easy, and it did not take very long to get it zeroed in. Once I got it there it held zero perfectly through 400 rounds. The charging cover keeps everything covered and safe and it has been a nice addition to my collection. I will continue testing to see how it holds up.

Oh this sight is way better in person. I'm not 100% fan of the rechargeable hood but for the application I have this on, it should be fine. I primarily use the SE on my edc firearms, this is a great training optic as it's got a big clear windows and multi-reticle. I'm sure in a week or two they will drop it in green dot.

This dot is so much crispier than my 507C. Having a astigmatism, this is the only dot I have ever used where I get zero starburst/distortions. It's just a crisp circle. Build quality is really good. Feels quality. Time will tell on longevity, but if OSIGHT stands by their lifetime warranty - which I heard they do - I won't worry too much. Overall probably the best value enclosed dot on the market. OSIGHT is the new value king dethroning Holosun, with a less expensive, better product.

Worked well. However due to the way the sight hangs forward. It’s not completely compatible with the RMR plates sometimes. Had issues mounting on my Walther pdp.
