The rod was advertised as New, otherwise I would not have purchased it. It was definitely not new. It arrived in a “VERY”! used condition. Actually the rod is unusable due to the damage from the previous owner. Two of the ferrules were broken and splintered making the rod unusable. The cork handle was damaged missing pieces and dirty and looks it had a rough attempt at a patchy repair. The reel is missing paint, has corrosion on it. The fly line was dirty, the leader had a knot in it and was kinked and frayed at the end of it. Which are all signs of being used. The reel is missing paint and scratched from being roughly used. All of the screws in the reel were damaged and missing paint. It looks like where someone had taken it apart. Worst of all I just got this rod, reel package and I was going to surprise my son with it. He is going on a fishing trip this weekend but he won’t get to use it because I’m having to return it. 😠👎 ... show more

Has been a great rod and reel and been used from Alaska to Yellowstone, and the San Juan River. Have enjoyed using and enjoyed catching many fish. Look forward to using many years in the future.
